Competition Development

The Canadian Cycling Association is currently working on the curriculum for both the "Competition Development" and "High Performance" coaching streams. As of Winter 2010, these courses have yet to be introduced; therefore, Cycling BC is not yet able to offer them.

Prospective coaches interested in these areas who would like to get started none-the-less, should take Introduction to Competition meanwhile, if they haven't already. For certified "old NCCP" Level 2 coaches or certified "Introduction to Competition" coaches, NCCP Level 3 certification is still a possibility until Competition Development and High Performance are completed. Such coaches who are interested in taking the "old NCCP" Level 3 course should contact Kevin MacCuish at Cycling BC: kevin@cyclingbc.net

If sufficient people are interested in Level 3, CCA may yet agree to hold a course, depending upon the completion time-line for the new NCCP courses.

This said, Competition Development will not require Introduction to Competition as a prerequisite; however, certification in the High Performance stream will require certification in either of the Introduction to Competition or Competition Development streams.

Cycling BC will begin offering courses for both of these coaching streams as soon as the courses are complete and as soon as we are able to train learning facilitators to offer them.
