The BC Premier Road series returns to the calendar with a 5 event series. The series will start April 18 with the return of Junkyard Dog in Surrey and will include stops at the Sunshine Coaster, North Vancouver MEC Bike Festival and finish in Whistler on June 28 as part of the BC XC Championships.

“I am very excited to have XC back on the calendar as a race series. Most of the races will be using the XCO format which will not only provide great training races for Cycling BC’s high performance athletes, but will allow us to offer a youth series to help foster our future stars,” commented Cycling BC Race Coordinator Barry Lyster.

Downhill BC Cup is back and will again take BC’s top racers to venues throughout the province. The series will kick-off with the Kamloops based Race the Ranch April 11 and 12 and will continue through the season with stops in Whistler, Silver Star, Sun Peaks, Panorama, Kicking Horse with the final to be held in Fernie on August 30. BC DH Championships will be held in Whistler on June 28 as part of a double-header weekend along with the BC XC Championships hosted by Whistler Blackcomb.

BMX is well underway with their series, having held BC Cup 1 and 2 on February 14 and 15 at the indoor track in Abbotsford. Abbotsford will host BC Cup 3 and 4 on their outdoor track June 27 and 28 and will then proceed to Action BMX July 12 in Surrey and then finish in Ridge Meadows on September 12 and 13. Action BMX in Surrey will be hosting the BC BMX Championships on July 11.

Track is back, with the BC Premier Track series starting on June 20 in Victoria with Trackfest 1. Racers will return to the BC capital August 28 to 31 for BC Track Championships and Trackfest 2. There are plans to continue the series through the fall and winter with the Burnaby Velodrome events including Feature Friday Nights and the Burnaby 4 Day.

With the huge growth in Cyclocross, 2015 will see the debut of the BC Premier Cyclocross Series. The series will start in Whistler, September 27 and will include races at Vanier Park, Maple Ridge, Kelowna, Surrey, Abbotsford and North Vancouver. North Vancouver will also host the BC Cyclocross Championships, which will take place on November 29.
