Victoria’s Mel Pemble has achieved a remarkable feat at the 2025 Para Track World Championships in Rio de Janeiro, October 16th-19th, clinching a gold medal in the WC3 Sprint. This victory marks her fourth podium of the 2025 Para Track World Championships, and her first world title in the Sprint event. She also won bronze in the scratch race, silver in the kilo, and silver in elimination. Mel now holds eleven world championship medals.
Jessica Law from Vancouver, BC, narrowly missed a podium finish, taking 4th place in the Women’s C5 Sprint. She also finished 6th in the Elimination race and 11th in the Scratch race. Meanwhile, Kate O’Brien from Alberta also secured 4th place in her Women’s C4 Sprint event and finished 5th in the Kilo Time Trial.
