iRide Pro-D Day Camp p/b Burnaby Velodrome Club

Ages 10-13
Minimum Ability Level: iRide Level 5 & 6

Cycling BC’s iRide program helps young riders build confidence and social connections by partnering with local cycling clubs to deliver 1-5 days camps during school breaks.  This level 6 camp is designed for riders who are comfortable on their bike and able to ride blue mountain bike trails. During the day’s activities, our NCCP certified coaches will introduce participants to the thrill of track cycling and go on a mountain bike adventure around Burnaby Mountain.  Riders will have a chance to work on a variety of skills, including:

  • Riding the velodrome banking
  • Intermediate mountain bike skills

Time: 9:00am – 3:30pm    (Flexible pick-up time of 3:30PM-4:30PM)

What Do Riders Need to Bring?

  • SMILES!
  • Water, Lunch, Snack,
  • All-weather clothing
  • Bikes gloves
  • CSA-approved bike helmet (rentals available)
  • Mountain bike in good repair (rentals can be possibly arranged)
  • Everything needed to change a flat tire
  • Towel or  yoga mat

Daily Activities:

  • Morning–  Track
      • Goal: Ride 10-40 laps on the blue line!
  • Afternoon– Mountain Bike
      • Goal: Pattern a new skill, overcome the challenge of riding up a mountain!
      • Possible routes (coach discretion)
  • Late Afternoon- Dryland
      • Introduction to mobility and stretching
      • If time allows
      • Please bring a towel/yoga matt
