Langley Lizards p/b iRide Sprockids (#2: Tuesday @ McLeod Athletic Park)
Hi! I am Natalie, from the Township of Langley and we are excited to offer a new youth cycling program in the community this summer! We are passionate about our community, our trails and riding bikes with people of all ages! Let’s go riding!
Our new 6-week program offers a fun, safe and memorable community program available to local participants aged 6-12 with an iRide skill level 4-5. As recipients of a Cycling BC iRide Development Grant, my team of leaders and I have undergone NCCP-training with Cycling BC to help us utilize both the iRide skills and Sprockids skills curriculum and help your child build confidence, foster friendships and develop intermediate and advanced bicycle skills.
Our sessions plan to stay close to the center, utilize local trails, easy green trails and recreational parks to practice skills. All sessions are covered by Cycling BC’s insurance policy with Marsh Canada.
This 6-week learn-to-ride program covers a variety of topics that involve all aspects of riding. Participants will learn riding techniques such as uphill, downhill, tight turns, braking, gearing, and how to properly adjust their bike to fit themselves.
