Club Theory A

This theory workshop is designed to introduce the major concepts of coaching riders in the “Learn to Train” and “Train to Train” stages of the Long Term Athlete Development Model and help you learn how to teach skills.

After completing this course, you will be able to complete half of your Comp-Intro portfolio and feel prepared to attend the Basic Skills module and your chosen discipline-specific skills module.

The module is facilitated online, using Telus Business Connect (ZOOM), and conducted over 4 x 2-hour sessions. Participants are expected to attend all 4 sessions and be an active participant in the module. Please ensure that your video and microphone are working well and that you have completed the pre-event homework (included in your registration confirmation email). Participants who miss a session can watch the recording and complete additional notes in their journal.

This module is included in the Club Coach (NCCP Competition-Introduction) context and is officially titled: NCCP Comp-Intro Skills & Tactics Theory

Notes:

  • Cycling BC members who are 15 years of age can apply for special consideration and attend this module. Email us to apply.
  • If you are working with young riders under the age of 11 or in a community setting (iRide), please instead take the Community Coach Theory module.
  • Please note, registration may close up to 72 hours prior to the event start.
