Despite being an elite athlete\, he faced an invisible enemy with no warning signs. DESCRIPTION:Smith Creek Chainless Race is a charity event in support of Adaptive Adventures.  \nThe Smith Creek Chainless Race is a downhill mountain bike race aimed at a stress-free environment with max fun potential! Participants will pedal to the top of the Smith Creek Trail Network in West Kelowna\, BC\, where the chain on their bike will be removed. They will then race back down the designated trail to the bottom while trying to set the fastest time they can. \nOnly the downhill portion is timed. \nAbout the fundraiser:\nAdaptive Adventures has been something I’ve seen around the valley for some time now. I have friends who have been out on some adventures with them and they provide such an incredible service for a community that typically has so many barriers in front of them. The team at Adaptive Adventures do an incredible job of removing these barriers with the specialized adaptive equipment the have. \n

It’s an opportunity for cyclists of all levels to come together in an inclusive atmosphere that values sportsmanship\, camaraderie\, and the joy of riding. Despite being an elite athlete\, he faced an invisible enemy with no warning signs. The mission is to ensure that Kris’s legacy shines on\, raising awareness about heart disease and reminding everyone that it can affect anyone\, regardless of their fitness level. \nThis event has a dual purpose: fostering community ties via cycling and amplifying the significance of heart health care in Northern BC. \nPlease consider donating to the Kris Yip Memorial Fund through the Prince George Community Foundation.
