SUMMARY:Island Cup XC: Cobble Hill
DESCRIPTION:After 10 years of racing at Cobble Hill\, race organizers feel they have the perfect combination of single and double track trails\, with course distance dialled in at 21 km for Experts\, 14 km for Intermediates and 7 km for Beginners\, and enough tough climbing to satisfy a billy goat! Expect a similar route to 2015 with some variations to explore some of the new trails built on Cobble Hill over the last year. \nThe race begins at 12:00pm for the Experts\, then a 1 minute stagger for the Intermediates and then another 1 minute stagger for the Beginners. \nBring the Kids! \nCobble Hill Mountain is fortunate to have the Cleasby Bike Park located at the base of the mountain which has beginner friendly pump track and jump lines for the young rippers to ride while Mom or Dad are off racing. \nSummit Cheer Zone\nThe course is climbing to the summit this year and the tired racers are going to need all the help they can get. We are encouraging spectators to make their way to the summit during the race to cheer on the racers. We will provide some cowbells and noisemakers during registration. Costumes are encouraged. \nAwards & BBQ\nEvery racers will receive a BBQ ticket along with a chance to win some awesome draw prizes. \nThe winner of each category will receive a coveted custom made mug.

SUMMARY:Island Cup XC: Nanaimo
DESCRIPTION:If you raced the Nanaimo Mountain Bike Club Race last October you find this route almost identical save the end due to logging activity. The course is ridden clockwise\, I starts on a gravel road and gains elevation until Humility trail for some more technical climbing\, then onto Anniversary trail for some mixed terrain . From there you procede onto Easy Peasy for some flowy descents and onto Secret Ninja to test your technical descending prowess. At the end of Secret Ninja you turn left at the power lines along a double track where you can catch up to and pass you opponants until you arrive at Keith’s Trail. This takes for a fast downhill and a short uphill to Nookie trail\, which is points down and pops you out onto a gravel road for more passing opportunity. \nTake a right on the road and after you passed some other racers you break right and climb Diggler until to another short gravel road and then Fuzzy Bunny\, Rusty Nail\, Out and About and Potsticker. These trails offer technical features\, bridges\, ups downs rocks\, trees\, too much to list\, and truth be told sometimes difficult to navigate\, but don’t they will be well marked. \nAt the end of Potsticker is where the the change occurs\, Hootenanny is still obstructed and we have built a brand new trail for this race. It will take you down under the hydro lines to back to the start finish line for more laps if you are so inclined… \nIf you’re a first timer\, seasoned pro or just out to have some fun we would love to see you experience mountain bike racing on Vancouver Island.

SUMMARY:Nimby Fifty
DESCRIPTION:The NIMBY FIFTY grew out of the desire to create a premiere mountain bike race at the north end of the sea-to-sky corridor. Traditionally most sea-to-sky corridor bike races have been held in either Squamish or Whistler – never in Pemberton. That all changed in 2010. \nThe official opening of the epic Big NIMBY trail in summer 2009 ushered riders into Pemberton from around the region.  With such a vast network of single track in close proximity to this amazing climb\, the stage was set for a long distance\, technical bike race.
