DESCRIPTION:The Cowichan Valley Regional District is the host region for one of the most challenging gravel cycling events in BC.  Hundreds of participants will take to the exclusive gravel roads of the Cowichan Valley in the 5th Annual BURNT BRIDGE CLASSIC GRAVEL FONDO.  \nIt’s time to ride the Legend! For us\, it is all about leaving behing an unforgetable impression for our participants.  Incredible ride\, incredible prizes\, and making incredible friendships.  The 2023 Fondo will be uncapped and will expand its registration options\, where all will have exclusive access to challenging yet scenic routes starting at Deerholme BC and into the Mosaic Forestry private lands.  The route will take riders through undulating terrain with steep climbs\, fast descents\, and feature some amazing scenery in the Cowichan Valley.   The event will include a world class start / finish area complete with food concession\, bike expo\, valet bike services\, and live announcing. \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:The Tripleshot CrossFondo fun and mud continue on Sunday October 17\, 2021!!!! Victoria’s first mass participation off-road cycling event\, appropriate for cyclocross or mountain bikes\, winds through flowing pine-needle trails and hairpin turns\, over hills\, roots and rocks\, and churns through mud\, creeks and deep puddles. There may be a few hike-a-bike sections to keep it legit and 60+ property owners are opening up access to their land for race day and they have their own surprises – remember the banjo player? The old truck? The driveway up\, or down\, depending on our course designer’s whim… \nThis event is a fund raiser for the Tripleshot Cycling Club Youth Program and a portion of the funds raised will support the development and maintenance of our region’s amazing trail systems. So far you have helped us donate $13\,000 to the South Vancouver Island Nature Trails Society and South Island Mountain Bike Society. \nNEW FOR 2021: Long course only. Wave starts based on your predicted average speed for this event. Purchase one-day event licence (mandatory) directly through Cycling BC. \nThis year\, we are running ONLY the long course which is approximately 45km. Please be aware that this distance is APPROXIMATE!! The development of the course takes months of communication with local governments\, businesses and private landowners. Until the course is finalized in September 2021\, we won’t know the EXACT distance. And remember\, on-course nutrition and mechanical support\, yummy food & bevvies are included with your entry fee! \nGot a lot of friends? Form a team of 4 riders! (Note: a cycling club does not qualify as a ‘team’!). You MUST register all participants at the same time; simply fill out Rider #1 information and then click “add participant” for each subsequent rider. DESCRIPTION:Where:\nA cycle tour through the south Peace Region\, showcasing the strong renewable energy industry in the area and the amazing scenery of the Tumbler Ridge UNESCO Global Geopark. The event will take riders from Chetwynd to Tumbler Ridge and beyond to Stoney Lake\, entering the Tumbler Ridge Geopark and riding by the Zonnebeke\, Moose Lake and Meikle Energy wind energy projects\, passing through Gwillim Lake Provincial Park along a quiet scenic highway. Views of snow capped peaks and pristine forest allow a meditative riding experience\, with almost no vehicular traffic and great support along the way. \nItinerary:\nJuly 19\, 2019\n\n5:00 pm – 9:00 pm: Kick-off Party\, Registration & Dinner\n\nParticipants meals are included in registration fee.  Extra meal tickets are available \nJuly 20\, 2019\n\n6:00 am – late registration ( conference room at Trend Mountain Hotel)\n7:00 am – Medio Fondo (100 km) and Gran Fondo (150 km) distance shuttles leave from the Trend Mountain Hotel and Conference Centre\n8:10 am – Shuttle arrives at Chetwynd Visitor Centre\n9:00 am – Gran Fondo (152 km) Start in Chetwynd\n10:00 am – Medio Fondo (100 km) Start in Chetwynd\n10:30 am – Pico Fondo (50 km) distance shuttles leave for Gwillim Lake from the Trend Mountain Hotel and Conference Centre\n11:00 am – Pico shuttle arrives at Gwillim Lake (50 km Start Line)\n11:30 am – Pico Fondo (50 km) start at Gwillim Lake\n2:00-5:00 pm – Pico and Medio racers relax at the Tumbler Ridge finish line after party. This event offers a rewarding challenge for cyclists of all levels. Riders will have the opportunity to ride one of our three distances at their own pace while enjoying first-class support. We will arrange for a shuttle to get you back to your starting point with your bike on all routes. \nThis event is a bicycle tour in the truest sense. You will have an opportunity to meet people from the communities you are traveling through\, and to engage with businesses and locals where you stay\, at the catered lunch stops\, and in the evening at the banquet. \nRegistration includes:\n\nBreathtaking Views of the Tumbler Ridge UNESCO Global Geopark\nGeopark Swag Bag\nShuttles for your gear to starting point in Chetwynd\, BC.\nShuttles from all route finishing points.\nAid stations approx every 25 kms (water\, gatorade\, fruit and granola bars\, with protein options for carnivores and vegans).\nBuffet dinner on Friday with speakers from the wind industry and the Geopark.\n\nAdditional Information:\n\nTour Date is July 20.  Shuttle will pick up all riders from the Trend Mountain Hotel and Conference Centre.
