DESCRIPTION:Prevention and Recovery\nThis 8-hour module is facilitated online by viaSport over 2 evening classes.  This module of part of the Comp-Dev coach development streams and is designed for anyone who is working with the provincial cycling team or a similar performance program. \nAfter completing this module\, coaches will be able to: \n\nIdentify common injuries in their sport and develop appropriate prevention and recovery strategies to keep their athletes injury-free during training and competition.\nOffer valuable information and guidance on hydration\, nutrition\, and sleep as they relate to injury prevention.\nChoose skills and drills that help athletes perform appropriate warm-ups and cool-downs.\nDevelop functional evaluations for an athlete’s return to play. DESCRIPTION:About Cycle Around Richmond \n STEM education is passionate about unleashing the potential of young people so they can lead fulfilling lives and have a positive impact on the world around them. \nSTEM is an abbreviation for Science\, Technology\, Engineering and Math.   Our goal is to bridge the gap between ability and opportunity by providing state of the art education both locally and around the world. \nCycle Around Richmond is a ride promoting STEM education and is co-sponsored by ORT and the Richmond Jewish Day school. \nEach rider or family is encouraged to raise $200 in pledges.  You may wish to create a fund raising page when you register so you can easily track how you are doing in fulfilling your pledge.  You can add your own thoughts and messages and invite your friends to participate. \nTwo route options are being offered: \nLeisure Ride 36 KM\nFull Distance 72 KM \nRegistration fee is Individual Rider $36. DESCRIPTION:On August 29th\, we are hosting a virtual cycling marathon in which we will collectively ride 6000 miles to enhance access to education and support an additional 6000 learners in our partnered communities in Bidibidi refugee settlement in Uganda. DESCRIPTION:This event has been cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions in the region.  \nJoin us on Sunday\, September 19th\, 2021\, for the 10th Granfondo Axel Merckx Okanagan (GFAMO) in Penticton\, British Columbia\, Canada.\n \nThis mass cycling event ranks as one of North America’s premier cycling events that attracts recreational\, elite and pro cyclists for an epic weekend of road cycling in the heart of British Columbia’s Okanagan wine country. Cyclists can choose from one of three distances with each distance starting and finishing in Penticton. For 2021\, the event will adhere to strict “COVID-19 safe” protocols that are compliant with the intent of the provincial health order. \n  \nSome cyclists will ride casually. Others will race. The beauty of the Granfondo Axel Merckx Okanagan (GFAMO) is that everyone will finish in Penticton with a smile on his/her face.
