DESCRIPTION:Club Theory A\nThis module is officially titled: NCCP Ready to Race! Introduction to Competition Skills & Tactics Theory in the Coaches Association of Canada LOCKER system. \nThe module helps you learn how to teach skills and run a practice for participants in the “Learn to Train” and “Train to Train” stages of the Long Term Athlete Development Model. \nParticipants work through various individual and small group activities to prepare a practice plan. Once complete\, participants can register for an upcoming outdoor practice teaching module\, including Basic Skills and a Club Skills module of their choice (BMX\, Mtn. Bike\, Track\, Road). \nThe module is facilitated online over 5 x 2-hour sessions. Participants are expected to attend and actively participate in each session. Please ensure that your video and microphone are working well and that you have completed the pre-event homework (included in your registration confirmation email). Participants who miss a session can watch the recording but must submit their assignment before the next session. \nThis particular event is organized and facilitated by Cycling Canada. To register\, use our Cycling BC portal to navigate to the Cycling Canada Learning Management System. Next\, select “Courses” and an upcoming Skills and Tactics Theory module of your choice. \nPre-Requisites: \n\nFoundations\nEmergency Action Plans\nMaking Ethical Decisions & Quiz\n\nThe pathway includes two additional SafeSport modules that are required to lead Cycling BC practices and clinics. DESCRIPTION:This event has been cancelled due to the cancellation of the 2021 Cyclocross National Champions. All participants are receiving confirmation and their refund on January 4th\, 2022 \nCycling BC and Cycling Canada invite you to attend our inaugural Cyclocross Advancement Camp on January 10-11th\, 2021\, at Jordi Lunn Bike Park in Victoria (postponed from original Nov. 29-30 dates as of Nov. 19). \nThis camp will help you develop the skills necessary to participate in future Cycling Canada National Team projects. In addition\, these camps will connect you with professional expertise\, gracious champions\, and promising athletes from across the country who share your drive for achieving your personal best. \nThe camp is for athletes between 14-19 years old. U17 and U19 club and provincial team athletes who wish to acquire and refine cyclocross-specific skills should attend! We are inviting several skills instructors and will match athletes with an instructor based on their skill level. \nEach day begins with a skills session at Jordi Lunn Bike Park with guest instructors\, including gracious champions from Cycling Canada’s national team. The sessions will focus on dismounting/barriers and cornering\, among other things. \nAfternoon sessions include a Monday ZOOM call discussing recovery strategies and mobility session\, with an optional aerobic endurance ride using the galloping goose gravel sections on Tuesday. \nSpecial notes: \n\nRiders must carry proof of vaccination.\nRiders are responsible for their transport\, nutrition\, accommodation.\nThis camp is OPTIONAL and will NOT affect National Team project eligibility.\n\nAs per Cycling Canada’s guiding mission and implementation strategy\, High-Performance funding covers most camp costs. DESCRIPTION:Learn to Race ROAD21\nDesigned for CATEGORY 2 road racers preparing to upgrade and compete in CATEGORY 1\, this program includes a 4-hour outdoor module\, preceded by a 2-hour education call. DESCRIPTION:Performance Theory\nThis module is officially titled: NCCP Competition Development Performance Cycling Workshop in the Coaches Association of Canada LOCKER system. \nCycling BC members 18 years and older may participate in the 85-hour Performance Coach (Comp-Dev) pathway\, including this Performance Theory workshop facilitated by Cycling Canada. \nThe Performance Coach pathway is for leaders who support and lead provincial or national team projects and manage Cycling Canada Trade Teams or international elite-amateur teams. The module helps you prepare to lead practices and events for participants in the “Train to Compete” and “Train to Win” stages of the Long Term Development. \nParticipants work through various individual and small group activities to discuss advanced sport-specific skills\, develop healthy travel habits\, and reinforce the importance of team building\, work/life balance\, and goal-oriented preparation. \nThe module is facilitated online over 6 x 3-hour sessions. Participants are expected to attend and actively participate in each session. Please ensure that your video and microphone are working well and that you have completed the pre-event homework (included in your registration confirmation email). Participants who miss a session can watch the recording but must submit their assignment before the next session. \nThis particular event is organized and facilitated by Cycling Canada.
