SUMMARY:Coaster 50 - BC Premier XCO & XCM Series
DESCRIPTION:Two awesome courses (XCO and XCM) on Sunshine Coast single track\, lakeside trails\, ocean views\, and canopied climbs! \nThe XCM offers you about 50kms of Coast riding including some logging road\, some double track but lots of single track.  There will be a feed station which you will see twice\, offering the usual water\, juice\, fruit\, and snack bars.  This is 2 wheel drive accessible for those bringing a support crew along.  The 21kms option gives a good workout to those who aren’t quite ready for the full meal deal. \nBoth are part of Cycling BC Premier Series so please make sure you pick the right one (XCO and XCM)!  New this year is the Wormy 150\, a new trail encircling Wormy Lake\, and Killer Squirrel – some beautiful single track. \nA full post-race meal and beverage are included in the $75 entry fee as well as the famous Coaster beer glass.\nFor an extra $18 we are offering merino socks customized with our new Coaster 50 logo. \nThere are cash prizes for top finishers and many draw prizes open to all including a couple of 3-day bike vacations with Boreale Biking. \nGo to sunshinecoaster.net for registration link and maps. \n\n  \n width="560" height="315" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"> \n

All participants will be cycling on a road or cyclocross bike. Free bikes are available but in limited supply. This material is an addendum to the NCCP materials taught during the Ready to Race! Basic Cycling Skills course. There is no pre-requisite to this course. \nCanucks Autism Network Instructor Training (12.30pm – 4pm)\nThis special workshop is offered in partnership with the Canucks Autism network and offers coaches the opportunity to learn how to teach children with various learning styles. This material is not exclusive to coaches who are working with autistic children\, and this course has been widely-regarded as a great addition to the High Five Healthy Child Development course materials (available May 5th). The program will use the iRide skills curriculum and the Sprockids skills curriculum to help your child build their confidence\, foster friendships with their peers and develop intermediate and advanced bicycle skills. \nThis program builds on the legacy of Doug Detwiller’s Sprockids curriculum to connect kids in your community with certified NCCP coaches trained to work with young people through Cycling BC’s iRide program. All sessions are covered by Cycling BC’s insurance policy with Marsh Canada. \nThis 6-week learn-to-ride program covers a variety of topics that involve all aspects of riding. The event was revived 3 years ago by a group of passionate volunteers who were eager to share some of the most spectacular single track trails that the Valley has to offer: epic climbs\, technical sections\, long descents\, smooth rolling contours\, rocks\, roots and loam! \n\nThis race has something for everyone\, offering a Full Course (35k) and a less grueling Shortened Course (15k). Enjoy a fully taped course\, tons of volunteer support\, a wicked after party and the bonus cash prizes! \n\nRegistration Includes: \nFully Taped Course \n\nSupport – Fully stocked feed stations and on-course marshals.\nAmazing Singletrack Trails – West Coast riding at it’s best!
