DESCRIPTION:Road / Gravel Skills \nThis module is officially titled NCCP Ready to Race! Introduction to Competition Skills & Tactics Practical: Road in the Coaches Association of Canada LOCKER system. \nThis outdoor club skills module helps you practice teaching intermediate mountain bike skills and tactics to participants in the “Learn to Train” and “Train to Train” stages of Long-Term Development. \nThe module builds on the concepts covered in the theory modules and takes place on local mountain bike trails. To pass the module\, participants must prepare two lesson plans (one skill and one tactic) and be ready to teach them to the group. \nThe module includes: \n\nSkills (choose 1)\n\nBrake modulation\nRiding in a straight line\nSlow-speed turns\nMedium-speed turns\nChanging gears for terrain\nPedalling at various cadences\nSeated Accelerations\nPedalling out of the saddle\nSprinting out of the saddle\n\n\n\n\nTactic (choose 1)\n\nFollowing a wheel\nSingle Paceline\nRotating Paceline\nEchelon\nBreaking Away\nDescending at speed\nFeedzone etiquette\nMechanical etiquette\n\n\n\nRecommended Pre-Requisites: \n\nRegister as a Cycling BC Club-Assistant or Club-Certified Coach (cyclingbc.net/edu)\nSkills & Tactics Theory\nBasic Cycling Skills (Saturday\, May 24)
