SUMMARY:NCCP: Club Theory A (Skills & Tactics Theory)
DESCRIPTION:Club Theory A\nThis module is officially titled: NCCP Ready to Race! Introduction to Competition Skills & Tactics Theory in the Coaches Association of Canada LOCKER system. \nThe module helps you learn how to teach skills and run a practice for participants in the “Learn to Train” and “Train to Train” stages of the Long Term Athlete Development Model. \nParticipants work through various individual and small group activities to complete a portion of Cycling BC’s Club Coach journal and prepare a practice plan. Journals are due within seven days of our final session to help consolidate learning outcomes and work towards certification in the future. Once complete\, participants can register for an upcoming outdoor practice teaching module\, including Basic Skills and a Club Skills module of their choice (BMX\, Mtn. Bike\, Track\, Road). \nThe module is facilitated online over 4 x 2.5-hour sessions. Participants are expected to attend and actively participate in each session. Please ensure that your video and microphone are working well and that you have completed the pre-event homework (included in your registration confirmation email). Participants who miss a session can watch the recording but must submit their assignment before the next session. \nThis event is organized and facilitated by Cycling BC. \nPre-Requisites: \n\nFoundations\nEmergency Action Plans\nMaking Ethical Decisions & Quiz\n\nThe pathway includes two additional SafeSport modules that are required to lead Cycling BC practices and clinics. DESCRIPTION:Psychology of Performance\n\nThis 8-hour module is facilitated online by the International Coaching School over 3 evening classes.  This module of part of the Comp-Dev coach development streams and is designed for anyone who is working with the provincial cycling team or a similar performance program. \nAfter completing this module\, coaches will be able to: \n\nHelp athletes learn to manage distractions and use visualization techniques to prepare themselves technically and tactically for training and competition.\nLearn how to work with athletes or teams to identify performance and process goals related to their ability to focus on performance.\nLearn debriefing skills that can be used to help athletes assess their performance in both training and competition.\n\nSchedule \n\nOct. 12   @ 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm\nOct. 18    @ 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm\nOct. 25   @ 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm\n\nLearn more about this module here\, including home-study options here.  Learn more about becoming an NCCP-Certified cycling coach here.
