SUMMARY:Matt's Aklavik Icebreaker pb Inuvik Cycling Club
DESCRIPTION:This spring\, the Inuvik Cycling Club is hosting the Second Annual Matt’s Aklavik Icebreaker. The Icebreaker is a supported 120-kilometre group bicycle ride from Inuvik to the remote community of Aklavik on the ice road for mental health awareness. Riders will cycle on the Mackenzie Delta river network with spectacular views of the Richardson Mountains along the way. Pictures don’t do this ride justice–you have to experience the environment firsthand! \nPrior to departure\, mental health professionals from various community organizations will talk about mental health and highlight available resources for those in need. Together we will work toward ending negative stereotypes associated with mental illness\, let everybody know that ‘it’s ok to not feel ok\,’ and communicate where people can access support. The event is named after former ICC member Matt Hamilton\, who originally conceived the idea of organizing a group ride to Aklavik. Tragically\, Matt died in February of 2021. \nFor more information\, please contact: 911chris.bruckner@gmail.com

SUMMARY:Cobble Hill XC
DESCRIPTION:After 14 years of racing at Cobble Hill we feel we have the perfect combination of single and double track trails\, we think the course distance is dialed in at approximately 24km for Experts\, 16km for Intermediates and 8km for Beginners and we know there is enough tough climbing to satisfy a billy goat! Expect a similar route to 2019 with some variations to explore some of the new trails built on Cobble Hill over the last year.  The course map will be released 2 weeks before the race to allow for ample practice. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRACE DAY SCHEDULE\n\n\n\n\n\n\n9:00-10:30 – Registration\n11:00 – Expert race start\n11:01 –  Intermediate Race Start\n11:02 – Beginner Race Start\n11:02+ – Youth U12 Race Start\n2:30 ish – Awards/Podiums/Swag in parking area\n\n\nBring the Kids! \n\nCobble Hill Mountain is fortunate to have the Cleasby Bike Park located at the base of the mountain which has beginner friendly pump track and jump lines for the young rippers to ride while Mom or Dad are off racing. \nWater Tower Cheer Zone \nThe course is climbing past the water tower (half way up the mountain) this year and the tired racers are going to need all the help they can get.  We are encouraging spectators to make their way to the water tower during the race to cheer on the racers.  We will provide some cowbells and noisemakers during registration.
