SUMMARY:NCCP: Community Initiation
DESCRIPTION:Register for the Let’s Ride course (February 19th\, 2016) \nRegister for the Basic Cycling Skills Course (February 20th\, 2016) \nComplete your registration by paying here or call Diana Hardie @ 604-737-3136 \n  \nThis course will train coaches who would like to work with their local cycling club or with Cycling BC’s iRide program. \nLet’s Ride! Community Cycling Initiation (CCI) is the NCCP context for coaches who will primarily work with novice\, pre-competitive cyclists at the community level\, including participants in the Active Start\, FUNdamentals and early Learn to Train stages of athlete development (outlined in Cycling Canada’s Long-Term Athlete Development Model). The program is simple\, based on a number of pre-designed lesson plans\, and adaptable to the varying skill and ability levels of participants. The focus of the program is on having participants develop skills that are basic to MTB\, BMX\, and Road\, in a controlled\, off-road\, off-trail setting such as a sport field or parking lot. \nThe training required to become a Community Coach is participation in two NCCP workshops: the Community Coach “Let’s Ride”\, and the Basic Cycling Skills session\, which includes practical training. These workshops have been combined into a full training event. \nThe Let’s Ride! Community Cycling Initiation stream is structured as follows: \nCoach status: In Training\nLet’s Ride!
