Course marshalling at a downhill bike event is a vital role that puts you at the center of the action. Positioned on the mountainside\, you ensure the safety of both riders and spectators. As a course marshal\, you’re more than just an observer—you’re crucial to the race’s success. Your responsibilities include signalling to riders\, coordinating with the event team\, and keeping the course clear. All volunteers receive an event t-shirt\, lunch\, and a free Bike Park Ticket.

DESCRIPTION:Victoria’s Underground Cyclocross Series Returns for 2025. \nThis is a low-key Cyclocross Practice series designed for all abilities. Practices take place in parks around the Victoria area with permission from landowners. So our little group of avid CX cyclists may be the longest-running CX event in Canada\, according to Canadian Cycling Magazine! This happens with the support of a lot of people\, actually\, everyone who registers\, some help set up\, some help take down\, and pretty well everyone shows up with a smile and ready to ride! We have the same request we made last year. It has become much more difficult to book venues to hold our Wednesday CX. It only takes a few regular park users to complain to the municipality/land owners to shut us down\, which has happened in the past. \nFirst\, the more we let the municipality/land owners know how much we appreciate their permission to use the space for a few hours\, the easier it will be to get permits in future. We will let you know each week when the Monday location information email goes out\, who you can email/write/call to thank for the park use. \nSecond\, we need to be the most respectful user\, avoid at all costs conflicts with regular users\, clean up completely and if necessary remediate and damage we cause. \nWe can do this! \nB’s ride at 5:30pm\, A’s at 6:00pm. \nDetails on locations will be emailed to the registered riders list each week. \n* Ride #1 and Kickoff is September 10\n* Ride#2 is September 17\n* Ride#3 is October 1\n* Ride#4 is October 8\n* Ride#5 is October 22\n* Ride#6 is October 29

DESCRIPTION:From the organizer: \n**FORBIDDEN GRAVEL ON SEPT 7 POSTPONED** NEW DATE SCHEDULED FOR SEPT 21 *** \nAfter doing another important risk assessment over the past few days\, we have decided to postpone the Forbidden Gravel in Cumberland event to later this month. (New Date to be officially announced in next 48hrs) \nDue to the worsening fire risk\, we have been recently informed by one of the land owners that we are not permitted to have motorized vehicles access certain areas of the course\, which are critical to our safety emergency first response and communication plan. \nYour safety is our number one priority and we need to be certain that we have a robust safety plan to ensure the well-being of attendees and allow for effective management of any incidents or emergencies that may occur. \nWe also are mindful that the conditions are getting dryer and the weather forecast remains hot and dry for the remainder of this week. Recently some new fires popped up nearby in Campbell River and we expect the situation to continue to deteriorate until some much needed rainfall arrives\, hopefully later this month. \nRest assured that we are doing our utmost to keep the event alive and to also extend the distances for the Intermedio and Esperto so that you are getting more bang for your buck. \nWe appreciate your understanding on this matter. DESCRIPTION:This event has been CANCELLED for 2025 | For more information\, please visit the event website at https://tripleshotcrossfondo.ca/ \n\nVictoria’s ONLY mass participation off-road cycling event winds through flowy pine-needle trails and hairpin turns\, over hills\, roots and rocks\, past curious donkeys and horses\, and churns through chunky peanut butter mud and puddles. Oh\, and maybe a few hike-a-bike sections to keep it legit. \nFeatures some public trails and private property that owners are opening up for this one day. \nA fundraiser for the Tripleshot Cycling Club youth cycling program\, this event supports the development of year-round training for 10-18 year olds who train hard and love to compete in cross\, road\, track and mountain bike at local\, provincial\, national and international levels. \nA portion of the proceeds also funds the maintenance and development of trails through various community organizations. \nWe respectfully enjoy\, as visitors\, the traditional territory of the W̱SÁNEĆ (Saanich) and lək̓ʷəŋən (Songhees) peoples of the Coast Salish Nation. DESCRIPTION:Downhill racing returns to Mount Prevost for the first time in over a decade! On October 25\, 2025\, riders will tackle a full lap of Mr. T—one of Stevie Smith’s legendary favourite trails. This marks a historic moment in BC racing\, bringing back high-speed action to one of the province’s most iconic downhill venues. \nPlease review the Event Technical Guide before registering (v.2025.10.14). Please register before October 22nd at 11:59 a.m. All registrations must occur online\, and no late registrations will be accepted. \nVolunteers Wanted \nHelp us make history at the return of DH racing on Mount Prevost. Volunteers—especially course marshals—are crucial to rider safety and the success of the event. Positioned on the mountain\, you’ll have a front-row seat to all the action. \n\nSanctioning\n\nCycling BC sanctions this event as an A-Level Competition. As a result\, all participants must hold a Cycling BC membership or complete the necessary online forms before participating. SUMMARY:Cross Club p/b Pro City Racing 2025
DESCRIPTION:Victoria’s Underground Cyclocross Series Returns for 2025. \nThis is a low-key Cyclocross Practice series designed for all abilities. Practices take place in parks around the Victoria area with permission from landowners. So our little group of avid CX cyclists may be the longest-running CX event in Canada\, according to Canadian Cycling Magazine! This happens with the support of a lot of people\, actually\, everyone who registers\, some help set up\, some help take down\, and pretty well everyone shows up with a smile and ready to ride! We have the same request we made last year. It has become much more difficult to book venues to hold our Wednesday CX. It only takes a few regular park users to complain to the municipality/land owners to shut us down\, which has happened in the past. \nFirst\, the more we let the municipality/land owners know how much we appreciate their permission to use the space for a few hours\, the easier it will be to get permits in future. We will let you know each week when the Monday location information email goes out\, who you can email/write/call to thank for the park use. \nSecond\, we need to be the most respectful user\, avoid at all costs conflicts with regular users\, clean up completely and if necessary remediate and damage we cause. \nWe can do this! \nB’s ride at 5:30pm\, A’s at 6:00pm. \nDetails on locations will be emailed to the registered riders list each week. \n* Ride #1 and Kickoff is September 10\n* Ride#2 is September 17\n* Ride#3 is October 1\n* Ride#4 is October 8\n* Ride#5 is October 22\n* Ride#6 is October 29
