Whether you’re just starting and want to learn how to ride safely in a group\, or you already ride comfortably and want to get faster and more skilled\, this clinic is for you. \nClinic Dates: \nApril 14 – June 2\, 2026\nEight Tuesday evenings\, 6:00–7:30 pm \nWhat to Expect: \nSession 1 (off-bike): Meet your coaches and fellow riders\, and learn basic bike maintenance.\nSessions 2-6 (on-bike): Skills practice at various locations around Victoria\, including Beacon Hill Park\, and longer group rides chosen by the coaches. Clinics run rain or shine (only extreme weather cancels). \nYou’ll be placed in a group based on your comfort level and skills\, and adjustments can be made after the first week. DESCRIPTION:The Burnt Bridge Classic Gravel Fondo\, also known as “The Legend”\, has been a mainstay of gravel cycling in BC\, drawing hundreds of participants and introducing a new dimension of cycling to local BC communities. Located in the beautiful Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island\, BC\, the event features exclusive access to gravel roads and wilderness that is unparalleled in Canada. With varied and challenging terrain\, the BBCGF offers a gravel cycling experience like no other. Now in its eighth year and part of the new Trek BC Gravel Series\, the BBCGF is poised to take gravel cycling to the next level by pursuing the opportunity to host the Canadian Gravel Championships. Three “Classic” Distances are being offered: Impulso (Beginner) – 52km\, Intermedio (Intermediate) – 75km\, Esperto (Expert) – 123km. The Classic is open to all ages and genders in a conventional mass-start format. \nThe Burnt Bridge Classic will also be hosting the Canadian Gravel Championships and invite participants with the option to race among the best gravel racers from across Canada. It’s an opportunity for cyclists of all levels to come together in an inclusive atmosphere that values sportsmanship\, camaraderie\, and the joy of riding. Whether you enjoy pushing your limits with friendly competition or prefer a more leisurely pace to soak in the scenery\, the choice is yours. Ride at your own pace\, challenge yourself\, or simply enjoy the journey—all while honouring Kris’s legacy of making cycling welcoming and fun for everyone. \nThe Kris Yip Memorial Fondo is proudly organized by the Kris Yip Memorial Foundation\, dedicated to honouring Kris’s – kindness\, sportsmanship\, and inclusivity. Tragically\, Kris’s untimely passing on January 18\, 2023\, was sudden and unexpected\, a result of advanced coronary artery disease. Despite being an elite athlete\, he faced an invisible enemy with no warning signs. The mission is to ensure that Kris’s legacy shines on\, raising awareness about heart disease and reminding everyone that it can affect anyone\, regardless of their fitness level. \nThis event has a dual purpose: fostering community ties via cycling and amplifying the significance of heart health care in Northern BC. \nPlease consider donating to the Kris Yip Memorial Fund through the Prince George Community Foundation.
