SUMMARY:Robert Cameron Law Cycling Series p/b PISE: Russ Hays/Accent Inns Grand Prix & BC Criterium Championships
DESCRIPTION:This is the Robert Cameron Law Cycling Series’ “money” event — where elite riders put everything on the line to claim primes (lap prizes) and cash prizes before a large rowdy crowd\, just inches from the action. \nRacing on a short\, fully  enclosed 1km metre loop around the BC Legislature\, this European-style event features thrills and spills. Witness the “prime” and finish line sprints at Belleville street\, or enjoy a bite to eat or a cup of java at the many “course-side” outdoor cafes along the route. Thousands of spectators line the route each year to watch riders reach speeds of 65 km/hr\, side to side\, wheel to wheel.  \nThis race has now been confirmed as the official 2016 BC Criterium Championships\, where riders from across the province will vie for the provincial championship title in their category.

Medals will also be presented to the top 3 in each category for the 3 championship races. \nImportant\n\n\nAll athletes who have placed on the podium must attend the awards ceremonies. Failure to do so will result in a fine and loss of award (including prize money if applicable). \n\n\nRiders who cannot attend the awards ceremony must advise the Chief Commissaire or the Technical Delegate with a valid reason. Calculation of the GC is on lowest cumulative time from in each stage. In the event of a tie\, the road race place will be used to break ties\, and if a tie remains\, then TT placing\, followed by Criterium will be used (if required). \nThe GC is not a BC Championship event. The winner of the GC in each category will be awarded a custom winners jersey from Jakroo. All participants are eligible for Hayman Classic awards. \nJunior and Youth Requirements\n\n\nJunior gearing (7.93 metre rollout) is required in youth categories in all races sanctioned by Cycling BC. It is highly recommended that all participants race as individuals\, and club teams eliminate the use of team tactics for these events. \nDoping Control\n\n\nAll races are conducted under UCI anti-doping regulations \n\n\nIt is the riders and team manager’s responsibility to know the rules \n\n\nDoping control location will be clearly marked \n\n\nTo be eligible to win a BC Championship\, the rider must be a resident of BC and hold a Cycling BC Provincial or a UCI race license. \nIf the winner of the race is not eligible to be the BC Champion\, there will be 2 podiums for the race. The first one will recognize the top three finishing positions in the race. SUMMARY:Robert Cameron Law Cycling Series: Russ Hays Grand Prix / BC Criterium Championships
DESCRIPTION:CLICK HERE TO REGISTER\nThis is the “money” event — where elite and age group riders put everything on the line to claim primes (lap prizes) and cash prizes before a large rowdy crowd\, just inches from the action\, to be crowned BC Criterium Champion.  Racing on a short\, fully  enclosed 1km metre loop around the BC Legislature\, this European-style event features thrills and spills. \nVisit victoriabikerace.com for more info.

SUMMARY:Sp'akw'us 50 - BC Cross-Country Marathon Mountain Bike Championships
DESCRIPTION:It’s all about the trails\nIf you have raced a mountain bike in Squamish\, BC\, you have been through the crusher. You have been jammed and jabbed. You have passed the Test. Now you are wondering what is next for your favourite riding destination. \nMountain Bike racing will continue in Squamish with the announcement of the Spakwus 50 Marathon Mountain Bike Race and BC Provincial XCM Championships. Spakwus means Bald Eagle in the Squamish Nation language\, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh\, and symbolises the wildly majestic beauty of the Squamish Valley. This valley has been the fertile hunting grounds of the Bald Eagle for hundreds of years and now has become a destination for cyclists to hunt down and find world class mountain bike trails. These lands provide life to the Bald Eagle but to the mountain biker\, these lands provide meaning. \nThe celebration of life and recreation amongst these lands is the Spakwus 50.

SUMMARY:BC Youth (Road\, Criterium\, Time Trial) Championships: 2018 Hayman Classic
DESCRIPTION:We are honored to again host the 2018 BC Youth Cycling Championships. The first British Columbia finishers in Stages 1\, 3 & 4 will be crowned BC Champions for the Time Trial\, Criterium and Road Race.\n\nThe 2018 Edition of the Hayman Classic promises to be a truly special event. \nComprised of four races over three days\, it stands almost alone on a yearly cycling calendar that caters overwhelmingly to adults. What makes the Hayman Classic distinctive is that it is open only to young cyclists\, meaning those aged 13 to 19. \nMore than that\, the races are designed to give them a European-style experience of riding in groups or alone over courses that challenge their skill\, strength and stamina against top juniors from British Columbia\, Canada and the United States. For coaches and trainers\, it’s a chance to take the measure of the next generation of cyclists. \nFor Ron Hayman\, the former Olympian and pro racer behind the Hayman Classic\, it’s an opportunity to nurture and encourage young riders\, but more important to give them a chance to compete\, to have a “real-world experience\,” as he puts it. Too often\, he says\, young riders devote hours and hours to training but rarely if ever have the chance to succeed – and fail and learn – from a hard-fought race. The Hayman Classic helps to fill that void. \n width="640" height="360" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"> \nThe 2018 Hayman Classic Promo from Chris Stenberg on Vimeo. \nKey points of the competition: \n* Morning of Friday\, May 25. The first event is a time trial in which riders compete to have the fastest time over a set course\, which in this case runs over some 11 kilometres from Okanagan Falls to the parking lot at Painted Rock Winery. The final section up Smythe Road to Painted Rock features stinging grades of 16 to 18 per cent. \n* Afternoon of Friday\, May 25. The second event is a multi-lap circuit race around the track at Area 27\, Canada’s hot new motorsport speedway southeast of Oliver. Nestled among vineyards and hills\, this track dips\, rolls and climbs over 4.8 kilometres of impeccable asphalt – no potholes here. Area 27 was used last year for the first time by the Hayman Classic. It garnered rave reviews from cyclists. \n* Morning of May 26. In this event\, riders will compete in a criterium on Riverside Drive in Penticton.  A criterium is a race in which riders are repeatedly challenged by tight turns over multiple laps of a fixed course. The turns are a true test of a rider’s ability to brake and accelerate around corners in a pack and at high speed. \n* Morning of May 27. In the final event of the competition\, riders will take part in a road race over multiple laps of a course with punishing climbs and sharp descents through and around Oliver. \n* There will be winners in each of these four events. But one of the special features of the Hayman Classic is that it is also a stage race\, meaning the finishing times in the four events are added together to give each rider an overall time for the full competition\, and the best of these will also be honoured. \n* This year\, for the first time in its four-year history\, the Hayman Classic has been added to the national junior race calendar. This is a significant development for the Classic which can now boast of being one of only three events on the junior national race calendar. The others are the Tour de la Releve in Rimouski\, Que. and the national championships. \n\nCycling Canada Talent ID Camp at Hayman Classic 2018 \nCycling Canada would like to invite riders taking part in the 2018 Hayman Classic to stay for an extra two days for a Talent ID Camp with National Coach Kevin Field. This is an opportunity for athletes to stand out and be recognized for their talent as well as to learn more about what it takes to get to the national level. The Cycling Canada Road Talent ID Camp will run from Sunday\, May 27\, after the Hayman Classic event and will wrap up on the afternoon of Tuesday\, May 29. MORE INFO
