SUMMARY:Track Future Champs Camp
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\nDo you already ride a bike and are ready to take the next step? Have you ever dreamed of becoming a professional bike racer? Let us help with the transition…Our team of professional and world-class cyclists along with other industry professionals have the tools to get you where you want to be. \nThe camp is ideal for riders of all ages and abilities. So whether you’re a current Junior National Champion or are brand new to track cycling\, you’ll be welcome at the velodrome. \nEach morning we’ll break into groups based on experience and ability to ensure that you get the most of your time at the track. The on-bike instruction will focus on skills development for each group; for more experienced groups there will be a focus on team events while less experienced riders will focus on bike handling and comfort in the pack \nThen\, after lunch\, we’ll all come together for in-class instruction. \n\n\n\nTOPICS TO BE COVERED:\n\n\nSponsor appreciation\n\n\nSports psychology\n\n\nRace tactics\n\n\nRecovery techniques\n\n\nHow to stay healthy on the road\n\n\nQ&A sessions with top cyclists\n\n\n\n\n\n\nREGISTRATION INCLUDES:\n\n\n4 Days of instruction from top coaches in the Province\n\n\nRental bike\n\n\nInsurance\n\n\nBurnaby 4 Day Registration\n\n\nChance to connect with peers from across British Columbia\n\n\nJersey\n\n\n\nThe Burnaby Velodrome is situated within the Harry Jerome Sports Centre\, located just below Simon Fraser University on the Barnet Highway in Burnaby. The Velodrome was built by Cycling BC and numerous volunteers between 1991 and 1997\, and opened its doors in November 1997 as the first indoor velodrome in North America. \nThe Burnaby Velodrome is\, without a doubt\, one of the most exciting cycling tracks in North America. Its relatively short length (200m) and steep banking (47degrees) make riding and racing far more thrilling than at the big outdoor velodromes. \n

SUMMARY:RBC GranFondo Whistler Giro Race
DESCRIPTION:Bigger is better – that’s the theme for the 2015 Giro. Sponsored by Robert J Macdonald\, the Giro is open to riders licensed in Category 1\, 2 or 3 only. The Giro will offer prize money to a winning field of both male and female athletes to a depth of 20 deep. That’s right\, the first 20 finishers for both men and women will receive prize money! \n  \nREQUIREMENTS\nThis is a sanctioned event\, open to riders who have a valid UCI road racing license in Cat 1\, 2 or 3 (Masters must have a current Cat 1\, 2 or 3 license). All Giro riders will be asked to show their current UCI road racing license at Package Pickup at the Welcome GranFesta on Friday\, September 11\, 2015. Please note\, this is an individual category only – NO TEAM results. \n  \nSTART SEEDING\nBoth males and females will start en masse and will ride the GranFondo 122km route from Vancouver to Whistler. Start corral opens at 6:15am to Giro riders after the Forte riders have cleared the start area. Prior to 6:15am\, Giro riders can stage in the Giro Staging area (see map). The Giro Category and staging corral has replace the Licensed Rider Corral. \n  \nON-COURSE SUPPORT\nNO outside\, on-course support will be permitted. Riders can only receive nutritional and liquid support from rest stops provided by the GranFondo Whistler event. Any rider seen accepting assistance from non-event sources will be disqualified immediately with no chance of grievance. \n  \nTIMING & RESULTS\nResults and prize money for the Giro will be based on Gun time. A rider’s finish time will be determined by the elapsed time of when he or she crosses the finish line in relation to the official event start time\, NOT when the rider crosses the start line. Because prize money is up for grabs in the Giro category\, participants in the Giro are not eligible for prizing in either the King of the Mountain or Squamish Sprint Challenges. \nProfessional timing services are being supplied by Event Day Timing and timing chip technology will employ Chronotrack B-Tag\, a proven technology for cycling event timing. The timing mechanism will be affixed to the seat poast. \nAwards Ceremony will be held in the Celebration Plaza at the Finish area in Whistler between 1:00pm and 2:00pm (subject to change). Preliminary results will be posted by the main stage by 12:30pm. Winners do not need to be present to win. Only the top 5 finishers will be presented on stage. \n  \nPRIZE CATEGORIES\nTotal prize purse is $50\,000 with first place beign awarded $15\,000 to both of the top male and top female. The remaining $20\,000 will be distributed to a field depth of 20 with equal amounst give to males and female. SUMMARY:Castle Cross
DESCRIPTION:Team Escape Velocity p/b Catalyst Kinetics is pleased to present CastleCross\, returning to Port Coquitlam’s Castle Park\, located just minutes from Vancouver. Escape Velocity is thrilled to once again partner with the City of Port Coquitlam and are hugely grateful for their excellent support of active use of their community parklands. \nEV’s mischievous course designer Tobin Copley has put together a fast\, flowy course with technical grass field riding\, deceptively difficult elevation changes\, rewarding/frustrating pacing variations\, and corners to challenge all racers—including a fast sweeping 270º constantly off-camber corner. And three (yes\, THREE!) run-ups\, each with differently technical approaches. It’s the Triple Crown of cyclocross! \nThis venue has lots of terrain\, and Castle Cross will be taking advantage of it. Expect a classic and demanding cyclocross experience\, one you’ll never believe could be found in an exurban park. \nAn entirely separate 250 m mini-course will be available\, where members of our DEVO youth development team will be giving training clinics for kids and adults alike. So bring your friends! Bring your kids! Bring your friends’ kids! \nEscape Velocity cannot comment on rumours that an awfully cute and very friendly donkey may be in attendance to cheer on racers and provide kids and adults alike with donkey-patting opportunities. Rumors of a foam machine are ridiculous and implausible. Rumors that it may snow that day are fever dreams of imaginations run wild. \nOnce again\, there will be mouth-watering food available on site (including cycloross-correct Belgian waffles) from the amazing Patisserie LeBeau food truck! Bring friends and family\, a camera and cowbells\, and your best heckles and items for hand-ups to this spectator-friendly event! \nRegistration closes 30 minutes before each race. \n*In compliance with UCI cyclocross rules\, age-based categories will be based on racer age as of Dec 31\, 2016 (sixteen). This includes Masters categories which are defined as age 40+ as of end of 2016 (i.e.\, birth years 1976 and earlier).

SUMMARY:ValleyCross
DESCRIPTION:ValleyCross\, part of the Cycling BC Premier Cyclocross Series\, is Abbotsford’s premier cyclocross event situated in picturesque Mill Lake Park\, Abbotsford’s crown jewel\, just minutes off of Highway One. Featuring long sight lines\, two large mature Douglas Fir grooves\, stair run-ups\, a sand section\, a paved start/finish line straight-away\, and a kids playground to keep the family engaged in-between races – Mill Lake Park is the perfect cyclocross venue. \nWhy cyclocross racing? Plain and simple: it’s a ton of fun! Races are short – less than an hour – with riders navigating sometimes muddy terrain\, slippery off-camber grass sections\, jumping barriers and pushing themselves just hard enough to keep a smile on their face. If not racing\, Pro riders can compete on any bike they might have in their shed – CX bike\, mountain bike\, fat bike or even that $300 Frankenbike – it doesn’t matter. Bring it on! \nDid we mention fun? Cyclocross races thrive on inclement weather conditions; the wetter\, the muddier\, the better! And talk about spectator-friendly\, you can easily watch most of the race from one vantage point thanks to the tight course layout and varying terrain. With various “hand-ups” on course shenanigans\, cheering or heckling and loads of cow bell\, you can’t help but get swept up in the cyclocross experience! \n\n  \nAre you new to Cyclocross racing? Are you cross-curious? Or are you just in need of some helpful tips on how to attack those barriers and better navigate a CX course? Check out ValleyCross’ Women’s Learn to Cross Clinic on November 7th with LIV Canada pro racer Sandra Walter.

SUMMARY:Daryl Evans Racing JunkYard Cross presented by SORCE Bike Club
DESCRIPTION:SORCE Bike Club presents the Daryl Evans Racing JunkYard Cross presented by SORCE Bike Club at South Surrey Bike Park and proud to be part of the Cycling BC Premier Cyclocross Series. \nWe have included almost every type of terrain in the new 2 km + lap course. An uphill road start will take you onto the gravel by the water tower\, through the JunkYard Cross Village and past the Red Racer Beer Garden\, up and over the Double R Rental Bridge and onto the grass. As you pass around the water reservoir you will encounter off camber hills before you plummet back onto gravel and onto the BLTrail in the forest.  Scramble up the Drop Zone\, the steepest muddiest section and back onto gravel. A second pass of the beer garden\, (perhaps stop in on your way by) then back into 1km of forest single track before popping out onto the road climb. Reverse direction back down the hill while on the off camber swoppy grass then back up the hill on off camber grass along the perimeter of Softball City. We’ve got it all to challenge and entertain you . . . \nIncluded in your entrant fee\, a ticket for 1 slice of pizza from Papa Murphy’s Pizza on-site venue. Each entrant of drinking age will also receive a ticket for 1 beer at the Red Racer Beer garden.  But you’ll probably want an extra at $3 per while you cheer your favourite racer as they ride by the beer garden twice per lap. Or perhaps they’ll need hydration. \nRace organizers reserve the right to amend the course\, categories and schedule.
