SUMMARY:Sidney Velo Time Trial: Shawnigan Lake
DESCRIPTION:Open to all age categories and all classes of paracycling. \nSign-on: 2 PM at 2371 Shawnigan Lake Road opposite Dwight School Canada. Parking in the lake-side lots; washroom in the school. Also parking at the finish on Renfrew Frontage Road. \nMap: www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=6659970 \nStart: 3 PM\,  opposite 2301 Shawnigan Lake Road\, 400 m south of  Dwight School Canada (at the top of the hill). \nDistance: 16 km (hilly) \nCourse: Start at 2301 Shawnigan Lake Road\,  south on Shawnigan Lake Road\, right on West Shawnigan Lake Road\, right on Renfrew Road\, finishing on Renfrew Road 100 m past the west entrance to Renfrew frontage Road. \nRace fee: $20 for BCMCA members\, $25 for non-BCMCA riders\, free for riders under 19. \nAll riders must have a Provincial or UCI Race Licence\, or sign a Non-Member Day of Insurance Release Agreement ($5 under 17\, $10 Canadian 17+\, $12 Foreign). \nBCMCA-hosted BBQ and awards will be held at Gay Wise’s\, 1757 Shawnigan-Mill Bay Road (left-hand gate\, Wise Financial Services sign) in Shawnigan Lake village next to Oma’s Bakery/Shawnigan House Coffee. SUMMARY:Sidney Velo Time Trial
DESCRIPTION:Sidne Velo holds a 17.4-km time trial every Tuesday evening from May through August\, rain or shine – the riders decide whether it’s too wet to race. Open to all age categories of cyclists and paracyclists.\nTime: Sign on at 6:30 PM\, Racing at 7 PM (6:00 and 6:30 for the last two weeks in August)\nLocation: Start/finish at Cy Hampson Park in North Saanich near Sidney\, B.C. on Lochside Avenue between Mount Newton Cross Road and the McTavish Road Interchange \nA minimum of 3 rides per season are required to win a category.\nInsurance: Every rider MUST show proof of insurance – a Cycling BC Race License (UCI/CCA Licence or Provincial Licence)\, or General Membership with primary affiliation to Sidney Velo. If you don’t have one of these\, you must purchase one here and bring it to the time trial. Sidney Velo no longer sells Cycling BC General Membership or race licences at the time trial. Riders without proof of insurance will not be able to ride the time trial. \nCost: $5 per time trial or $50 for the season. Free for under age 19.
