SUMMARY:Muc Off Cup (COTR #3)
DESCRIPTION:Muc-Off is not “just” the title sponsor of the Cross on the Rock Series but they are also back as title sponsor of the Muc Off Cup again this year! It is always great to have all their amazing products and Pete working hard washing bikes again (If needed). The Bowen park course is a classic. At the point of writing the chance of 5mm of rain that was “promised” earlier in the week seems to be gone…..which is sort of sad.  BUT the parks people will be happy as last year’s race needed some serious remediation! \nThe course will be similar to the last few years with a road section start\, into a  single track wooded climb\, quick down hill\, then onto the grass for lots of twists and turns before the infamous stairs and volley-ball court/sand section.  The volley ball court has a new perimeter fence around one side so the approach and path for that section will be changed.  For the most part the course will be similar to previous years but once we get into the bowl area it is up to the crew setting up on how our adventure looks! \nThe Stats!!\nThis race has some impressive stats over the history of the event. \n\nBiggest race of all time!  2019\n\n5th biggest in 2018\n6th biggest in 2017\n\n\nBiggest category of all time masters men 40-54 in 2019 with 88 racers\nMost DNF’s EVER in 2014\n\n4th most DNFs in 2010\n10th most DNFs in 2011\n\n\nLEAST DNF’s ever in 2016\n\n2nd least DNFs in 2019!\n\n\nTwo Time venue for the Provincial Cyclocross Championships\nMOST RAIN ever during one of our races for the 2021 Masters Men’s race.  It was INSANE!!\n\n  \nMore information can be found at: https://www.crossontherock.com/ \nInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/crossontherock/ \nFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/crossontherock

SUMMARY:Broad Street Cycles GP (COTR #4)
DESCRIPTION:This is the third year at the Jordie Lunn Bike Park located in Irwin Park (so confusing) in Langford. This was the first race of 2022 that was forecasted to have rain…..but currently it does not look like it is going to rain?  (Cloudy with 60 percent chance of showers. High 12.) Our title event sponsor for this event is in the title: Broad St Cycles! Expect a 3km loop with a mix of fast hard packed surfaces\, technical features\, pump track\, and a bit of mud. All set in a beautiful forested park with two mini lakes. \nParking this is the BIG issue so PAY attention!! \nParking is going to be tight. There is currently club house construction in the main parking lot drastically reducing the number of parking spots when we already had very few. \n\nPlease carpool or ride out if you live in greater Victoria.\nPlease follow the directions of the flaggers\nDO NOT PARK on any residential streets. (You will be towed)\nNot annoying the neighbours is THE key to being allowed back to this venue.\n\nThere are three places you CAN park.  See the MAP.\n\nThe main parking lot is at 2992 Irwin Road.\nContinue on Irwin Rd and make a left onto Creekside Trail for the secondary parking lot.\nWhen both lots are full\, there is overflow parking on Constellation Ave\, only 500m away.\n\nI repeat: There is NO PARKING on the shoulder of Irwin Rd or other nearby streets. Please use a parking lot or you will be towed.\n \nInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/crossontherock/ \nFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/crossontherock \nMore information can be found at: https://www.crossontherock.com/

SUMMARY:School of Hard Knox Cyclocross (BCICX)
DESCRIPTION:Cyclocross returns to Kelowna for 2023! More info and rider guidelines available at www.bcinteriorcross.ca.\nEuropean road cyclists in the early 1900s used to race each other to the next town over through farmers’ fields\, over dirt roads\, ditches\, hedges\, probably livestock… Forced portage sections helped exercise other muscle groups and improved circulation in the cold off-season months. \nCyclocross is now the second most popular road cycling discipline\, sweeping across Europe and now North America. DESCRIPTION:Location: Cowichan Exhibition Park – 7380 Trans-Canada Hwy\, Duncan\, BC V9L 6B1\n-55 minute drive from Victoria\n-33 minute drive from Nanaimo\n-Right off the highway North of Duncan \nParking: (SEE THE MAP) There is a HUGE parking area.  Look for the signs on the right immediately as you enter the exhibition.  We have overflow parking if needed but doubtful it will be. Do NOT park where you should NOT park! \nRegistration: If you need to register or switch your category it will be located at the Stratford Room.  Washrooms will also be around the same building\, try not to wear your muddy CX shoes.  We are expecting A LOT of mud this weekend (finally) and the cleaner we leave the washrooms the better. \nTeam Tents: See the attached map.  The pits will be located close by the team tents as well. \nCourse:  Think grass\, hills\, MUD\, tractor pull\, sawdust and some climbing (not quite Bowen).  It will be a bit more of a traditional European style course with plenty of COTR flair thrown in for good measure. \nTaco’s:  The Taco Revolution Food Truck will be on site for all your post and pre-race taco needs. TACOS!!! \nWarming Up:  We are not the only group using the park that day so please refrain from riding around the taped off main grounds as we don’t want Cyclist’s riding around where cars are driving to the Home Show OR Big Shop of Horrors Haunted house. \nBike Wash:  It will finally be needed and Peter Creighton from HLC will be onsite with the Muc-Off Pressure washer cleaning all our bikes.  Thanks for the support Pete! \nPrizing: Prizing and awards will be provided by Cycle Therapy Bikes in Duncan\, Eleven Speed Coffee and Muc Off!!  Plus Riverway Dental for the Hot Lappers! \n \n  \nInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/crossontherock/ \nFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/crossontherock \nMore information can be found at: https://www.crossontherock.com/

SUMMARY:Training to Race
DESCRIPTION:Training to Race (Theory B)\nThe module helps you learn how to manage a club or team for participants in the “Learn to Train” and “Train to Train” stages of the Long Term Development. \nParticipants work through various individual and small group activities to complete the second half of Cycling BC’s Club Coach journal and prepare an annual training plan\, an event travel plan\, and more! Journals are due within seven days of our final session to help consolidate learning outcomes and work toward certification in the future. Once complete\, participants can transpose their journal answers into the official portfolio document (or request assistance from Cycling BC) and then pursue certification by submitting the document to Cycling Canada. \nThe module is facilitated online over 6 x 2-hour sessions. Participants are expected to attend and actively participate in each session.
