SUMMARY:Tripleshot CrossFondo
DESCRIPTION:Tripleshot CrossFondo Presented by Hakai Energy Solutions\n9th annual. 25-ish and 45-ish km of backcountry trails in Victoria BC. The Highlands. Private Property. Hartland Mtn Bike Park. Mud. Sweat. Big grins.\nHave fun. Support youth. Get dirty.\nSunday\, October 20\, 2024\, 9 am \nVictoria’s ONLY mass participation off-road cycling event winds through flowy pine-needle trails and hairpin turns\, over hills\, roots and rocks\, past curious donkeys and horses\, and churns through chunky peanut butter mud and puddles. Oh\, and maybe a few hike-a-bike sections to keep it legit. \nFeaturing: The Highlands. Hartland Mountain Bike Park. Vancouver Island Tech Park. Francis King & Thetis Lake Regional Parks. Private property that owners are opening up for this one day. \nWorried about how much energy you’ll expend? We’ll keep you fuelled along the route! And when you’re done\, there will be food and bevvy to help you recharge! \nThis event is a fundraiser for the Tripleshot Cycling Club youth cycling program and will support the development of year-round training for 11-18 year olds who train hard and love to compete in cross\, road\, track and mountain bike at local\, provincial\, national and international levels. Since 2016\, thanks to the generous donations of the participants\, we have been able to donate $15\,650 of the funds raised to support the South Vancouver Island Nature Trail Society and the South Island Mountain Bike Society\, two hard-working not-for-profits that work to connect and build trail systems for all to enjoy. \nWe respectfully enjoy\, as visitors\, the traditional territory of the W̱SÁNEĆ (Saanich) and lək̓ʷəŋən (Songhees) peoples of the Coast Salish Nation. We thank our hosts and honour their welcome and graciousness to those who enjoy the beauty of their land. \nView full event details at https://tripleshotcrossfondo.ca/ \n

SUMMARY:SORCE JunkYard Cross CX Race
DESCRIPTION:CX racing at its very best @ South Surrey Athletic Park on October 20th and proud to be part of the Vancouver Lower Mainland Cyclocross Series! \nWe have included almost every type of terrain in the revised 3.4km per lap course. An uphill road start will take you onto the gravel by the water tower\, through the JunkYard Cross Village and past the Red Racer Beer Garden and onto the grass. As you pass around the water reservoir you will encounter off camber hills before you plummet back onto gravel and onto the BLT trail in the forest. Scramble up the Bond Training Mud Wall\, the steepest muddiest section and back onto gravel. A second pass of the beer garden\, (perhaps stop in on your way by) then back into forested single track before popping out onto the off camber grass and sidewalk climb. Reverse direction back down the hill while on the off camber swoopy grass then back up the hill on off camber grass along the perimeter of Softball City. We’ve got it all to challenge and entertain you . . . \nPIZZA\, BEER & PHOTO INCLUDED! – with your entrant fee. \nReceive a voucher for 1 slice of pizza. Fresh and hot on site! \nEach entrant of drinking age will also receive a voucher for 1 beer at the Red Racer Beer garden. But you’ll probably want an extra at $5 per while you cheer your favourite racer as they ride by the beer garden twice per lap. Or perhaps they’ll need hydration. U19 riders will receive a non alchoholic beverage voucher. \nScott Robarts Photography will be taking pro photos of your gritty race face so don’t forget to show some teeth! Photos will be free to download for personnal use.

SUMMARY:Cross on the Rock - Nanaimo Muc Off Cup
DESCRIPTION:Muc-Off is not “just” the title sponsor of the Cross on the Rock Series but they are also back as title sponsor of the Muc Off Cup again this year! It is always great to have all their amazing products and Pete working hard washing bikes again (If needed). The Bowen park course is a classic. At the point of writing the chance of 5mm of rain that was “promised” earlier in the week seems to be gone…..which is sort of sad. BUT the parks people will be happy as last year’s race needed some serious remediation! \nThe course will be similar to the last few years with a road section start\, into a single track wooded climb\, quick down hill\, then onto the grass for lots of twists and turns before the infamous stairs and volley-ball court/sand section. The volley ball court has a new perimeter fence around one side so the approach and path for that section will be changed. For the most part the course will be similar to previous years but once we get into the bowl area it is up to the crew setting up on how our adventure looks! \nFor more info\, visit https://www.crossontherock.com/races/muc-off-cup/
