SUMMARY:Steep n' Deep XC
DESCRIPTION:Back for its second instalment\, Steep n’ Deep XC returns September 25–26 showcasing Fernie’s premier trails surrounding Mount Fernie Provincial Park. Launching from the beautiful Fernie Nordic Centre\, racers head straight into downcountry nirvana\, accessing the very trails and terrain that put this mountain town on the global mountain bike map. \nA new age of mountain bike racing. Steep n’ Deep XC delivers a rowdy cross-country course featuring 4 unique timed stages\, each offering a taste of Fernie’s classic trail riding flavour from technical climbing\, steep descents\, and everything in between. Following an enduro-style format\, only your time within these stages counts toward your overall result\, meaning between the full-throttle efforts you’ll have time to recover\, refuel\, and socialize with your pals on the transfers to the next timed stage. In true downcountry fashion\, there’s more descending than climbing\, but beware\, every descent is hard earned. \nMore than just a bike race. Steep n’ Deep XC brings a full weekend of festivities. Kick things off with Friday evening’s Rider Social and Package Pickup\, then dive into Saturday’s race-day energy with finish-line vibes and live entertainment. The weekend-long beer garden will be flowing\, with all proceeds supporting the trails that make it all possible. Cheers to that! \nLearn more at https://anythinggoeseventseries.com/steep-n-deep-xc/

SUMMARY:Tripleshot CrossFondo 2026 p/b Hakai Energy Solutions
DESCRIPTION:Great news! The Tripleshot CrossFondo will be back in 2026 to celebrate its 10th year on Sunday\, Oct 18\, 2026. \nHave fun. Support youth. Get dirty.\nSunday\, October 18\, 2026\, 9 am \nVictoria’s ONLY mass participation off-road cycling event winds through flowy pine-needle trails and hairpin turns\, over hills\, roots and rocks\, past curious donkeys and horses\, and churns through chunky peanut butter mud and puddles. Oh\, and maybe a few hike-a-bike sections to keep it legit. \nFeaturing: The Highlands. Hartland Mountain Bike Park. Vancouver Island Tech Park. Francis King & Thetis Lake Regional Parks. Private property that owners are opening up for this one day. \nWorried about how much energy you’ll expend? We’ll keep you fuelled along the route! And when you’re done\, there will be food and bevvy to help you recharge! \nThis event is a fundraiser for the Tripleshot Cycling Club youth cycling program and will support the development of year-round training for 11-18 year olds who train hard and love to compete in cross\, road\, track and mountain bike at local\, provincial\, national and international levels. Since 2016\, thanks to the generous donations of the participants\, we have been able to donate $16\,500 of the funds raised to support the South Vancouver Island Nature Trail Society and the South Island Mountain Bike Society\, two hard-working not-for-profits that work to connect and build trail systems for all to enjoy. \nThank you to those who have donated to the Lindsay Burgess Legacy Fund to honour the seven-time Tripleshot CrossFondo rider. A new fund has been set up through the Victoria Foundation that will assist women so they can offer mentorship and coaching to young riders as Lindsay did. Please visit and share this link. \nWe respectfully enjoy\, as visitors\, the traditional territory of the W̱SÁNEĆ (Saanich) and lək̓ʷəŋən (Songhees) peoples of the Coast Salish Nation. We thank our hosts and honour their welcome and graciousness to those who enjoy the beauty of their land. \nView full event details at https://tripleshotcrossfondo.ca/ \n
