SUMMARY:Island Cup Enduro #3 - Hornby Island
DESCRIPTION:Enduro is a style of racing where the overall race time is the sum of multiple timed stages.  It offers a bit more casual approach to racing as the uphill sections are not timed\, only the downhill.  Don’t let that fool you though\, there’s plenty of fitness an pedaling required to excel at this discipline. \nOn Vancouver Island\, course designers do their best to show off the most fun descents that the riding areas offer. \nThe Enduro series consists of 6 events\, with the overall standings determined by the best 5 results. \n\nDetails TBA

Tragically\, Kris’s untimely passing on January 18\, 2023\, was sudden and unexpected\, a result of advanced coronary artery disease. Despite being an elite athlete\, he faced an invisible enemy with no warning signs. The mission is to ensure that Kris’s legacy shines on\, raising awareness about heart disease and reminding everyone that it can affect anyone\, regardless of their fitness level. \nThis event has a dual purpose: fostering community ties via cycling and amplifying the significance of heart health care in Northern BC. \nPlease consider donating to the Kris Yip Memorial Fund through the Prince George Community Foundation.

SUMMARY:Terry Fox Ride of Hope – Victoria (Road Ride)
DESCRIPTION:Terry Fox Ride of Hope – Victoria (Road Ride)\n\n#RideofHope  \n\nWelcome to the Terry Fox Ride of Hope Victoria Team Page! \nRiders of all kinds are invited to join us for the third annual Terry Fox Ride of Hope\, on Sunday\, June 30th\, 2024. \nWe will be offering two routes on paved roads around the capital region. The first group will ride 143km in recognition of the 143 days that Terry ran a full marathon before being forced to stop when his cancer returned. We will also offer a shorter course of 72km. \nNote this is an unsupported ride\, go at your own pace\, with route maps supplied. We’ll begin at the Trek Bicycle Store in Vic West\, and finish at the Terry Fox Memorial on Dallas Road (at Mile Zero). \nOur fundraising goal also reflects the number 143\, with a goal of $14\,300.00. Team Victoria has proudly raised close to $20\,000 for cancer research. \nIf you are interested in participating in either distance\, would like to volunteer in any capacity\, or would like any more information\, you can contact us at tfrideofhopevictoria@gmail.com.
