SUMMARY:Robert Cameron Law Cycling Series: Schwalbe Cycling Classic
DESCRIPTION:CLICK HERE TO REGISTER\nOne of the most popular road race courses in Western Canada in back!  The Schwalbe Cycling Classic is a relentless course that will challenge all competitors.  The riders will be racing multiple laps of a ten kilometer circuit starting at Rocky Point Road\, followed by a right turn and steep climb up Liberty Road.  The racers continue to La Bonne Road where they then turn onto Kangaroo Road down a winding descent which takes them back to Rocky Point Road.  Hundreds of spectators are  expected to line both sides of the climb up the Liberty Road climb to cheer on their favorites and to urge the participants to finish this grueling race. \nFor more information\, visit victoriabikerace.com

DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\nThis course will train coaches who would like to work with their local cycling club or with Cycling BC’s iRide program. \nLet’s Ride\nThis community initiation course is designed for coaches who will primarily work with novice\, pre-competitive cyclists at the community level\, including participants in the Active Start\, FUNdamentals and early Learn to Train stages of athlete development (outlined in Cycling Canada’s Long-Term Athlete Development Model). The program is simple\, based on a number of pre-designed lesson plans\, and adaptable to the varying skill and ability levels of participants. The focus of the program is on having participants develop skills that are basic to MTB\, BMX\, and Road\, in a controlled\, off-road\, off-trail setting such as a sport field or parking lot. \nBasic Cycling Skills\nThis workshop helps coaches learn how to teach basic cycling skills. These races will also launch this year’s national series\, the BMX Canada Cup. \nThe BMX Canada Cup Series will offer a lineup of 7 races to the young and fast BMXers of Canada. The series will kick off in May\, and will travel to British Columbia\, Ontario\, and Alberta to finish in Calgary\, AB where the new Canada Cup overall Champions will be crowned. The Canada Cup was introduced in 2012 as a way to help bridge provincial competitions to the international stage\, and since has been an efficient tool in providing national competition to young riders\, which is propelling Canada to some of its best international results since BMX became an Olympic discipline in 2008. “The 2017 Canada Cup series will offer some great opportunities for young aspiring BMXers to compete against some of Canada’s best\,” said Josh Peacock\, the series coordinator for Cycling Canada. “The growth of the BMX Canada Cup series has been impressive over the last four years\, and we are counting on more young BMXers to join the series this year. DESCRIPTION:A 17.4 km time trial every Tuesday evening from May through August\, rain or shine – the riders decide whether it’s too wet to race. Open to all age categories of cyclists and paracyclists. \nDate: Every Tuesday evening from May through August\nTime: Sign on at 6 PM\, Racing at 7 PM (6:00 and 6:30 for the last two weeks in August)\nLocation: Start/finish at Cy Hampson Park in North Saanich near Sidney\, B.C. on Lochside Avenue between Mount Newton Cross Road and the McTavish Road Interchange \nA minimum of 3 rides per season are required to win a category. \nInsurance: Every rider MUST show proof of insurance – a Cycling BC Race License (UCI/CCA Licence) or a Provincial Ride Licence. If you don’t have one of these\, you must buy one at cyclingbc.net and bring it to the time trial. We no longer sell licences at the time trial.
