Journals are due within seven days of our final session to help consolidate learning outcomes and work toward certification in the future. Once complete\, participants can transpose their journal answers into the official portfolio document (or request assistance from Cycling BC) and then pursue certification by submitting the document to Cycling Canada. \nThe module is facilitated online over 6 x 2-hour sessions. Participants are expected to attend and actively participate in each session. Please ensure that your video and microphone are working well and that you have completed the pre-event homework (included in your registration confirmation email). Voted by Cycling Canada as the best Cyclocross event of 2022\, we are back to make it even better! \nLocated at the iconic Layritz Park in District of Saanich (Victoria) things kick off on Friday\, November 24 for the @broadstreetcycles Blackout CX\, a night Time Cross racing that is open to all ages and abilities. Riders are encouraged to come with lights. \nOn Saturday\, November 25 is the highlight event\, the @lazersport Canadian Cyclocross Championships as racers duke it out for the coveted red and white National Champion jersey. \nThe racing continues on Sunday\, November 26 with the @trekbicycles Bear Crossing Grand Prix UCI C2\, which offers Elite/Juniors access to precious world ranking points\, while also offering masters racers with Canadian ranking points that will count towards the 2024 CX Championships. \nFor Kids\, the @cyclingbc Hop On Expo offers a dedicated beginners cross course for learning skills and playing fun games. DESCRIPTION:This 4-hour skills and riding clinic is designed for competitive road cyclists who wish to learn how to ride in a group. \nSkills Include: \n\nTouch tires (on grass)\nShoulder bump (on grass)\nCorner with a partner\nFollow a wheel\nIntroduction to pacelines (single\, rotation\, combo)\nStand & Pedal (introduction to sprint/climbing)\n\nOver the day\, we will tackle each skill through games\, activities\, and challenges. The session occurs in controlled paved and grass areas before some open-road riding in the afternoon. Flat pedals and running shoes are strongly encouraged for the morning skill session. DESCRIPTION:Cross Country (XC) is a classic style of racing where the event starts and ends usually at the same point. DESCRIPTION:Cycling BC presents a women-only Learn to Race ROAD54 in alliance with Ruckus Racing—a race team and development ground for women\, by women. \nThis 4-hour skills and riding clinic is designed for road cyclists who want to learn how to ride in a group and feel more confident in a competitive riding environment. \nSkills covered include: \n\nTouch tires (on grass)\nShoulder bump (on grass)\nCorner with a partner\nFollow a wheel\nIntroduction to pacelines (single\, rotation\, combo)\nStand & Pedal (introduction to sprint/climbing)\n\nOver the day\, we will tackle each skill through games\, activities\, and challenges. The session occurs in controlled paved and grass areas before some open-road riding in the afternoon. Flat pedals and running shoes are strongly encouraged for the morning skill session. Let us know during registration if you wish to borrow a pair of flat pedals. The afternoon group ride is an opportunity to practice race-specific skills and athletes may be allowed to complete a 10-20 minute effort per their individual training needs. \nParticipants who complete the clinic may earn experience credits towards their Category 4 upgrade.  Those who exceed expectations may be permitted to upgrade to Category 4 without the normally required three race starts. DESCRIPTION:Cross Country (XC) is a classic style of racing where the event starts and ends usually at the same point. DESCRIPTION:Cycling Practice Planning\nThe module helps you learn how to teach skills and run a practice for participants in the “Active Start” and “FUNdamentals” stages of the Long Term Development. \nParticipants work through various individual and small group activities to complete Cycling BC’s Community Coach journal and prepare a practice plan. Journals are due within seven days of our final session to help consolidate learning outcomes. Once complete\, participants can register for an upcoming outdoor practice teaching module\, including Basic Skills. \nThe module is facilitated online over 2 x 2-hour sessions. Participants are expected to attend and actively participate in each session. Please ensure that your video and microphone are working well and that you have completed the pre-event homework (included in your registration confirmation email).
