Spakwus means Bald Eagle in the Squamish Nation language\, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh\, and symbolises the wildly majestic beauty of the Squamish Valley. This valley has been the fertile hunting grounds of the Bald Eagle for hundreds of years and now has become a destination for cyclists to hunt down and find world class mountain bike trails. These lands provide life to the Bald Eagle but to the mountain biker\, these lands provide meaning. \nThe celebration of life and recreation amongst these lands is the Spakwus 50.

DESCRIPTION:REGISTER NOW \nA cycle tour through the Peace Region\, showcasing the strong renewable energy industry in the region and the amazing scenery of the Tumbler Ridge UNESCO Global Geopark. The ride starts in Dawson Creek at historic Mile 0 of the Alaska Highway. Day 1 travels from Dawson Creek to Chetwynd\, crossing the Pine River valley\, with views of the Bear Mountain Wind Energy Project along the way. Day 2 takes riders from Chetwynd to Tumbler Ridge\, entering the Tumbler Ridge Geopark and riding by the Meikle Energy wind project\, currently under construction\, passing through Gwillim Lake Provincial Park along a quiet scenic highway. Day 3 starts in Tumbler Ridge and climbs the Heritage Highway\, summiting at the Quality Wind Project turbines\, and moving through the Geopark with views of the Murray River and the Kiskatinaw Plateau\, ending up in Dawson Creek with a celebration at the Visitor Centre.

DESCRIPTION:Most of us go through life solving our day-to-day problems without needing help to cope with our feelings. But a severe illness\, an accident or an emotional crisis can overwhelm us\, at least temporarily\, and suddenly we need help. \nSome people worry about asking for help because there can be stigma around mental health problems. They may believe that asking for help means admitting that something is wrong. Some people worry about how others might see them. Asking for help means that you want to make changes or take steps towards your new health goals. We should celebrate the courage it takes to speak up and make changes. Getting help is part of recovery \nCycling has the power to engage\, inspire and bring a community together. Positive Spin strives to do all of these things while creating a challenging day of cycling and bringing awareness to mental health. \n\nWe want to promote cycling\, provide a challenge\, and showcase the mental health benefits associated to the sport.\nWe want to celebrate cycling with an unforgettable ride.\nWe want to educate by showing people the benefits of cycling and taking the stigma out of mental health issues.\nWe want to connect people over a challenging and beautiful cycling route.\n\nThis is WHY you’re invited to join us and your fellow cyclists for a great day on two-wheels exploring the Chilliwack area. \nWHEN\nPositive Spin will held on June 24\, 2017 with event sign-in starting at 7am and the ride leaving promptly at 8 am from Old Yale Brewing in Chilliwack. \nREGISTER HERE

SUMMARY:Gibsons Grind Gran Fondo
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Saturday\, June 24th\, 2017\, for the 6th annual Gibsons Grind Granfondo on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia\, Canada. ​This cycling event provides scenic routes through the Sunshine Coast with event lengths that will appeal to all riders. All rides start at the Langdale ferry terminal and end at Persephone Brewery Company for a bbq. From there it’s a short downhill ride back to the Langdale ferry terminal.
