At iRide, we believe that every child should have the opportunity to learn basic cycling skills.

To do this, Cycling BC iRide program is designed to foster sustainable cycling communities across British Columbia’s 8 regional zones using program styles that match the diverse nature of our province.

  • School programs provide trained instructors, equipped with bicycles and tools, to make cycling as accessible as possible.
  • Community programs connect kids with local instructors passionate about cycling in their community.
  • Special events and memberships celebrate newly-acquired skills and introduce families to the local cycling community.

iRide is made possible by equal parts program revenue, government grants and donations.  We are proud to work with a team of private donors who share our love for cycling, our commitment to BC’s youth and a passion for making positive change. You can join our team as an instructor, a donor or a registered bike shop. Learn more here.

Program Types

With a wide variety of programs available, your child can begin their iRide experience at an in-school visit and develop through the ranks to the highest level they desire, including enrollment in a local youth club.

There are no pre-requisites for iRide. Riders who can ride a 2-wheel bicycle can join the iRide development pathway at any point. All of our programs are designed to complement existing youth cycling opportunities in your area and create memorable learning experiences.
