iRide Summer Update

This spring, we were able to introduce over 7500 students to the joys of cycling through iRide, across all 8 zones of British Columbia.  Kids came away with new skills, and the awesome experience of being active and cycling outdoors with friends, through a combination of in-school events, after-school iRide Sprockids programs, and 1-day celebratory iRide Games events.

We’re busy with more iRide fun this summer, and parents can check out our new kids zone webpage here: cyclingbc.net/iridemybike.

Curious about what we were up to this spring? Some of our iRide highlights include:

NEW FLEETS

iRide expanded to 4 in-school bike fleets this year including Comox, Kelowna, Victoria and the Lower Mainland.  As a result, iRide has been able to create memorable and engaging events throughout the spring in those areas. Each fleet has visited 12-15 schools this spring.

NEW GAMES & SKILLS

Now in our 3rd-year, the iRide coaches have created new games that are universal for many types of school grounds and allow a wide range of ability levels to enjoy a positive experience.

WIDER REACH

This year iRide has also been able to better diversify our campaign of visited schools to include all eight zones of BC, to target schools for local clubs, like a visit to Canyon Heights Elementary in support of DEVO, and visit schools in underserved communities.
