Join the Conversation on Active Transportation in BC

As part of the BC Government’s CleanBC plan to create greener, cleaner, and more sustainable communities, the BC government is inviting the public to voice their opinion on active transportation, whether it’s walking, cycling, or other modes of getting around. Active transportation will support the Province’s three key commitments to British Columbians: to make life more affordable, to deliver the services people count on, and to build a strong, sustainable economy.

In addition to public consultation, the government will be talking to local planners, Indigenous communities, and accepting formal stakeholder input submissions. All input received will help form the BC Government’s Active Transportation Strategy which will affect investments in new infrastructure, education and incentive programs, and safety improvements for people using active transportation.

Now is the time to have your say. There are several ways to share your views.

1. Join the Active Transportation conversation online at https://engage.gov.bc.ca/activetransportation/

Through this site, British Columbians are encouraged to bring their ideas about the ways governments can work together to build new active transportation infrastructure or better support existing network connections in their communities. A new question about Active Transportation is posted every two weeks to which the public can comment and share their views.

The online engagement will be open until April 15, 2019 at 4pm.

2. Submit your comments by email to activetransportation@gov.bc.ca

3. If any Cycling BC members with expertise and experience in the areas of transportation, infrastructure, safety, or policy are interested in contributing to a formal submission by Cycling BC and other cycling advocacy organizations, please contact membership@cyclingbc.net.
