Cycling BC’s New Board Chair and Executive Committee for 2022/2023

Cycling BC is pleased to announce Deb Intas as the new chair of the Cycling BC board of directors as decided by members of the board at a meeting held on September 22, 2022. Intas has been a passionate road & mountain bike rider for over 30 years and co-founded WOWride Cycling, the largest female road cycling club in BC. Intas was originally elected to the Cycling BC board of directors in 2021 and has also previously served on the board of Cycling Canada.

Intas succeeds outgoing board chair, Matt Usborne, who served as chair of the board for the past two years. Matt will now serve as a director-at-large and past chair for the balance of his term which terminates in September 2023.

“Matt’s leadership as board chair has been outstanding. During the global pandemic, he steered Cycling BC through a challenging time, and he helped to develop a solid strategic plan for the organization, which I intend to uphold during my term as chair,” says Deb Intas, new Cycling BC board chair. “I thank Matt for his service and I’m grateful we will be able to continue to work together, along with the other talented individuals on our board, throughout the coming year.”

Other board directors appointed to roles on the board executive committee include third-year board member Ashley Reid who will serve as Vice Chair and Martin Farnham will assume the role of board Treasurer in his first year on the board. The role of board secretary will be a floating position shared by other members of the board throughout the year.
