Cycling BC is thrilled to have the 2023 Mountain Bike XCO Provincial Championships back at Glenridge Acres in Abbotsford, BC. Set to take place on Saturday, June 3, 2023, this provincial championship race invites cross-country mountain bikers of all ages and abilities to ride on the diverse trail network of the Glenridge Acres property. Nestled in the eastern forest of Glen Valley, the site has ample parking, camping, and is just ten minutes from Fort Langley.
As one of the most highly anticipated events on the Cycling BC race calendar, the Mountain Bike XCO Provincial Championships provides a platform for both emerging talent and experienced riders to showcase their skills and push the limits of their endurance, speed, and technical ability.
“Cross-country mountain bike racing is one of the cornerstones of the vibrant mountain bike community in British Columbia,” said Erin Waugh, CEO of Cycling BC. “It’s where the passion and spirit of the mountain bike community shines, whether it’s through trail system development or fostering a sense of community through family-oriented events and races.”
“Glenridge Acres, with its diverse range of trails and rugged beauty, offers an ideal setting for riders of all abilities, from professional-level athletes to kids and beginners,” said event organizer, Mike Rauch. “We’re really encouraging families to participate in this event. Anyone can register and race…any rider at any level. It’s a great way to spend the day.”
To keep racing affordable for families, all mountain biking events at Glenridge Acres this year, including the BC Provincial XCO Championships, will have family pricing where any parent/guardian can register their child for free in the same event that they’re registered for.
While only residents of BC and current members of Cycling BC can qualify for a provincial championship title, everybody can participate in the event as non-championship categories are also available. The 2023 Cycling BC Mountain Bike XCO Provincial Championship is open to riders of all ages and skill levels, ensuring an inclusive and competitive atmosphere.
Registration is now open, and participants are encouraged to secure their spots early.
