SUMMARY:Western Challenge
DESCRIPTION:CLICK HERE TO REGISTER\nThe Western Challenge is a CN class track event. The event will be held in accordance with UCI and Cycling Canada regulations. It is the responsibility of the rider to know the rules. \nThe Western Challenge will take on the time and date scheduled. There will be no extensions past Saturday February 25th\, 2017 due to unforseen delays or stoppages. In case of stoppages\, the race format may be modified at the discretion of the race organizer and/or the chief commissaire. \nEquipment regulation\, as per UCI rules\, will be enforced for all categories. No exceptions. Approve helmets will be mandatory for training and racing. \nEligibility\nA licence must be presented to compete in the appropriate discipline. Canadian domestic licences or UCI licences (Canadian or abroad) are required. No one-day licences will be sold for the Western Challenge. \nAll competitors must enter their event class shown on their licence: \n\nMaster Men A: 30-39*\nMaster Men B/C: 40+*\nMaster Women: 30+\nElite: TK Category 1/2/3\nU15\nU17\nU19 Men\nU19/U23 Women\n\n*In certain instances riders in these categories may be given premission to race Elite 1/2/3 \nClasses are defined as per UCI rules based on the year of birth. \nNo registrations will be accepted on the day of the event. Athletes will not be considered registered for an event until the following administrative requirements have been completed: \n\nOnline registration has been done\nPayment has been made\nWaiver has been signed (if required)\nUCI licence has been validated by the designated commissaire\n\nRegistration\nRegistration opens Jan. 31\, 2017\, and closes on Feb. 20\, 2017\, 11:59 pm. No exceptions. There will be no day-of registration. Registration fees are non-refundable. \nRace numbers will need to be picked up the day before the athlete competes. \nUpgrades\nRiders will not be permitted to upgrade for the Western Challenge. \nGear Restriction \n\nJuniors: unrestricted\nU17: 7.12 m rollout (gearing suggestion: 50×15)\, no disc or carbon wheels (maximum rim depth: 40 mm)\nU15: 6.93 rollout (gearing suggestion: 47×15)\, no disc or carbon wheels (maximum rim depth: 40 mm)\nIf categories are combined\, riders racing up will be permitted to use the gearing applicable to the higher category.\nDisc\n\nAwards & Ceremonies\nAll athletes who have placed on the podium must attend the awards ceremonies. Failure to do so will result in a fine and loss of award. Riders who cannot attend the ceremony must advise the Chief commissaire or the Technical delegate with a valid reason. Reasons such as “I have a plane to catch” will not be accepted. \nRiders must wear their cycling kit to the award ceremony. Failure to do so will result in a fine and loss of award. \nAs per UCI rules\, riders cannot wear or bring hats\, water bottles\, bikes\, etc.\, on the podium.
