SUMMARY:NCCP: Community Initiation
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\nThis course is the minimum requirement for new coaches who would like to work with their local cycling club or with Cycling BC’s iRide program. \nCommunity Initiation\nThis community initiation course is designed for coaches who will primarily work with novice\, pre-competitive cyclists at the community level\, including participants in the Active Start\, FUNdamentals and early Learn to Train stages of athlete development (outlined in Cycling Canada’s Long-Term Athlete Development Model). The program is simple\, based on a number of pre-designed lesson plans\, and adaptable to the varying skill and ability levels of participants. The focus of the program is on having participants develop skills that are basic to MTB\, BMX\, and Road\, in a controlled\, off-road\, off-trail setting such as a sport field or parking lot. \nThe Let’s Ride! coaching stream is structured as follows: Learn More\n\nCommunity Initiation\nBasic Cycling Skills\n\nEvent Details:\n\n\n\nDelivered by:\nLauren Lan\n\n\nLocation Details:\nComox Recreation Center\n\n\nProgram Cost:\n$85\n\n\nPayment:\nVia CCN Registration Only\n\n\nRegistration:\nRegister Here\n\n\nRefunds:\nIf you need unable to attend your course\, please notify us immediately. To receive a refund\, 72-hour notice must be provided. Non-refundable fees apply. To receive a transfer of registration to a future offering\, 24-hour notice must be provided. Transfers of registration will only be honored within a given calendar year.\n\n\n\nEvent Preparation:\nParticipants will receive a pre-event email 7 days prior to their event. This email will include a reminder of our event details and a digital copy of the textbook material (a printed copy will be distributed during the course).  As a 1-day course\, pre-reading is required. The details of the pre-reading will be enclosed in the pre-event email. This method is designed to maximize our time and help you absorb as much information as possible. \n
