Calling all aspiring Canadian cyclists—applications for the 2026 Global Relay Bridge the Gap Fund are officially open! Since 2012, this program has propelled hundreds of riders toward professional success, from WorldTour contracts to representing Canada on the biggest stages.
Grant Categories
1. Athlete Grants
Eligibility: Canadian road cyclists (Cat 2+), ages 19–25 (men) and 19–29 (women); exceptional juniors also considered
New for 2026:
• Complete a power test and submit results (see BTG Advocacy for protocol)
• Include a season budget outlining anticipated costs
2. Mentorship Program
– Pairing emerging juniors/U23 athletes with former and current pros
– Limited spots—every Athlete Grant recipient receives an invitation
– Interested in mentoring? Email info@btgfund.org
3. Special Project Grants
– Supports clubs, teams, programs or events that bring young Canadian racers to international competition
– Open to U19, U23, and elite riders up to age 25 (priority to U19/U23 initiatives)
– Event organizers creating new racing opportunities are encouraged to apply
