The 2026 Provincial Championships calendar kicks off in the Lower Mainland with the BC Road Championships on the weekend of May 30-31, 2026, where riders will compete in the Road Race (May 30) and Time Trial (May 31) hosted by Thrashers Bike Club. The 2026 Provincial Crit Championships will be held on a separate weekend, with the date to be announced.
Keeping the rubber to the pavement, we anticipate some key events to hit the calendar ahead of Road Provincials, including Spring Series in the Fraser Valley, the Victoria Cycling League on the island, and the Future Champions Youth Cycling Camp & Stage Race in the Okanagan. And don’t forget about your weekly local grassroots series, fondos, and plenty more fun activities throughout the summer.

Gravity-fueled riders will launch full send into an action-packed downhill season, including the Dunbar Summer Series, BC Cup (series dates to be announced), Canada Cup, Crankworx, and DH Nationals at Sun Peaks on July 25-26, 2026. A new Dunbar Summer Series/BC Cup Downhill race at Red Mountain in Rossland is welcomed on to the calendar on September 6th. BC will then welcome the world’s fastest riders as the UCI MTB Downhill World Cup makes its Whistler debut from September 25-27. The 2026 Provincial Downhill Championships are tentatively scheduled for June 13, 2026; however, a venue host location has yet to be confirmed.
The BC MTB Cross-country (XCO) Provincials will take place on June 21, 2026, hosted in tandem with the Island Cup Series in the Greater Victoria Region—this event lands in between the Langford Canada Cup XCO/XCC on March 13-15, and the Canadian National MTB XCO/XCC Championships, which returns to Langford on July 16, where Canada’s top Cross-country Mountain Bike racers will battle it out on our rugged West Coast trails.

New and exciting for 2026, we are thrilled to announce the Sea2Sky Gravel Fondo as the inaugural BC Provincial Gravel Championships, scheduled for September 20th in Squamish. This event will follow the Burnt Bridge Gravel Classic | 2026 Canadian National Gravel Championships, taking place in the Cowichan Valley on June 14. Stay tuned for more details about both events!

Cycling BC’s partnership with BMX Canada, announced earlier this year, is now being utilized as Nanaimo BMX will host the 2026 BMX Provincial Championships during the Nanaimo BMX Canada Cup weekend, scheduled for July 11-12, 2026. We hope to see increased participation from a wider segment of the BMX racing community across the province thanks to this new partnership.

With the exact dates still to be determined, the 2026 BC Cyclocross Provincial Championships will return to Victoria in early November, while the 2026 BC Track Provincials make a comeback to the Burnaby Velodrome in late November for the last provincial championship race of the year.
