SUMMARY:Cross on the Rock - Nanaimo Muc Off Cup
DESCRIPTION:Muc-Off is not “just” the title sponsor of the Cross on the Rock Series but they are also back as title sponsor of the Muc Off Cup again this year! It is always great to have all their amazing products and Pete working hard washing bikes again (If needed). The Bowen park course is a classic. At the point of writing the chance of 5mm of rain that was “promised” earlier in the week seems to be gone…..which is sort of sad. BUT the parks people will be happy as last year’s race needed some serious remediation! \nThe course will be similar to the last few years with a road section start\, into a single track wooded climb\, quick down hill\, then onto the grass for lots of twists and turns before the infamous stairs and volley-ball court/sand section. The volley ball court has a new perimeter fence around one side so the approach and path for that section will be changed. For the most part the course will be similar to previous years but once we get into the bowl area it is up to the crew setting up on how our adventure looks! \nFor more info\, visit https://www.crossontherock.com/races/muc-off-cup/

DESCRIPTION:It is time to get your cross bike ready to race. Hopefully you have been stockpiling tires and chains over the last year as there is not much equipment to be had out there!! Race what you have. Gravel bike with cross tires. Mountain bike. Cross bike with 2.0’s. It does not matter. What matters now is getting our community back together and getting back racing this fall! \nThe Muc Off Cup is held at Bowen Park which is a public park. It is CRUCIAL to our event-parks and recreation relationship that all racers and fans act in an appropriate manner while using this park. We had an issue a couple of years ago in which one racer had an altercation with someone driving on the upper park road. This one altercation put our event in jeopardy. It is up to everyone. DESCRIPTION:Cross on the Rock is a grassroots\, laid back\, fun\, social\, surprising competitive Cyclocross series on Vancouver Island. \nKona Kup\nThe Kona Kup is a true European cross course. It starts with a long wide open paved road before it heads into a switchback climb. The course incorporates a large grass area with tight turns but still has places to pass\, a long stair run up and two sand sections.
