SUMMARY:NCCP: Community Initiation
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\nThis course will train coaches who would like to work with their local cycling club or with Cycling BC’s iRide program. \nCommunity Initiation\nThis community initiation course is designed for coaches who will primarily work with novice\, pre-competitive cyclists at the community level\, including participants in the Active Start\, FUNdamentals and early Learn to Train stages of athlete development (outlined in Cycling Canada’s Long-Term Athlete Development Model). The program is simple\, based on a number of pre-designed lesson plans\, and adaptable to the varying skill and ability levels of participants. The focus of the program is on having participants develop skills that are basic to MTB\, BMX\, and Road\, in a controlled\, off-road\, off-trail setting such as a sport field or parking lot. \nBasic Cycling Skills\nThis workshop helps coaches learn how to teach basic cycling skills. Workshop material covers skill analysis\, observation\, and corrective feedback – all vital skills for coaches of both new and experienced cyclists looking to improve. \nThe Let’s Ride! coaching stream is structured as follows: Learn More\n\nCommunity Initiation\nBasic Cycling Skills\n\nEvent Details:\n\n\n\nLearning Facilitator:\nBen Chaddock\n\n\nProgram Cost:\n$85\n\n\nRegistration:\nRegister Here\n\n\nPayment:\nVia CCN Registration or Cash/Cheque made to “Cycling BC”\n\n\nTravel Grants:\nFinancial assistance is available for coaches traveling from outside the Lower Mainland.
