SUMMARY:Intro to Race Officiating - Cyclocross & Mountain Bike
DESCRIPTION:Becoming a cycling commissaire is an excellent way for racers and enthusiasts to gain a deeper understanding of cycling and broaden their involvement in the sport they love. As a commissaire\, you are able to represent Cycling BC as a trained professional to ensure fair and safe competition. At the conclusion of the course\, you will have a greater understanding of the role of a commissaire\, increased knowledge of the mountain bike/cyclocross-specific rules as well as understand how to progress through the ranks from a level C trainee to an international commissaire. The course is also suitable for event organizers\, team managers and coaches who wish to learn the principle rules of the sport in order to be more effective in their roles. \nNewly trained officials will be able to participate in CBC’s mentorship program\, putting into practice the theory and skills learned at the course\, under the supervision of experienced commissaires over the course of the 2021 season to complete their level C certification. \nA travel grant will be available for those travelling more than 100km.
