Voting for your 2025 Cycling BC Board of Directors Candidates

There are six candidates running for four available board openings. Please take some time to review the candidate profiles at the bottom of this page.

In order to participate in the AGM and vote in the Board of Directors Election, you must be registered as a 2025 Cycling BC member on or before May 17, 2025.

WHAT OUR BOARD NEEDS

Cycling BC recognizes that a variety of perspectives, experiences and backgrounds strengthen our organization and help us better serve all members. As we seek a new and diverse mix of skills, attributes, and experiences, the Cycling BC board welcomes candidates who possess skills from any of the identified areas in our wheel (see image to the left/above).

After revisiting its skills matrix to help identify gaps and enhance the current expertise of our board, experience in the following areas would be highly valued:

  • Board of Directors Governance (familiarity with best practices in board structures, operations, etc.)
  • Fundraising Strategy and Donor Relations
  • Customer and Community-focused Service

EXPERIENCE IN CYCLING AND VOLUNTEER COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS.

Cycling didn’t start as my first sport, but it quickly became the one I fell in love with. As a lifelong endurance athlete, I began cycling later in life and haven’t looked back. Over the past few years, I’ve become deeply involved in the community—riding with local clubs, participating in fondos, and proudly serving as an RBC Whistler GranFondo Ambassador. Mentoring new riders and helping grow the spirit of connection and confidence in the sport has been incredibly rewarding, and another highlight has been sharing this sport with my three sons. There’s nothing quite like a family Sploop at sunset.

I've had the honour of serving in Board leadership roles with organizations like the Canadian Cancer Society, where I helped launch their first Diversity, Equity and Inclusion policy, and the Auxiliary to BC Women’s Hospital. I'm also a volunteer with Union Gospel Mission, serving in their kitchen on Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. I completed Vantage Point’s Board Fundamentals training to deepen my understanding of Board Governance and responsibilities.

Professionally, I’m a coach, educator and facilitator who takes a whole-system approach by integrating the relational, emotional, and physical resilience factors to performance. Recently, I've had the privilege of leading mindfulness and mental strength workshops for cyclists, helping riders develop the inner tools that support peak performance and lasting enjoyment on the bike.

I hope to bring my passion for cycling, community engagement, and performance leadership to Cycling BC’s Board of Directors and help shape a vibrant, inclusive future for the sport across the province.

ORGANIZATIONAL MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE

If you asked anyone who’s worked with me, they’d likely say my greatest strength is aligning people, purpose, and performance—creating the conditions for individuals and organizations to thrive. I’ve built a 15-year career on this foundation, holding bilingual roles in marketing and operations across North America, where I advised senior leaders on workplace culture, strategy, and DEI integration. Nearly two years ago, I launched my own Whole-System Coaching practice, drawing on a Master’s in Leadership and Behaviour, a NeuroLeadership Coaching Certificate, and training in CBT and mindfulness. My approach is also shaped by my background as a sports coach, Boston Marathoner, endurance athlete, and nonprofit leader. I’d be proud to contribute these strengths to Cycling BC’s continued growth and reach across the province.

HOW DO YOU THINK YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE TO CYCLING BC’s DEVELOPMENT?

I’m eager to collaborate with Cycling BC’s board and leadership team to combine two things I care deeply about—community leadership and cycling. Through my work on nonprofit boards and in strategic planning, I’ve helped organizations stay focused on what truly matters: making a lasting difference. I love asking the big-picture questions and then rolling up my sleeves to help turn those ideas into action.

At the same time, my own cycling story started as a total beginner. I still remember the nerves of my first group ride, and the pride of crossing the finish line at my first Fondo. That journey taught me the power of cycling, not just for fitness, but also for confidence, connection, and mental clarity.

That’s why I’m excited about what Cycling BC stands for. I want to help grow the sport at every level, from first rides to finish lines, making sure everyone has a place in the cycling community, no matter their age or ability. I bring both a strategic mindset and a personal passion for the sport. I’d love to support Cycling BC in making cycling more accessible, welcoming, and rewarding for everyone across the province.
