Para-cycling provides competitive and recreational cycling opportunities for athletes with physical, visual, or neurological impairments. Athletes compete across several cycling disciplines using adapted equipment such as handcycles, tandems, tricycles, and standard bicycles, depending on their classification.
Para Cycling has been officially administered by the UCI since an agreement to transfer governance of the discipline from the International Paralympic Committee was signed on February 7, 2007.
Para Cycling is divided into road and track races.
