Every cyclist’s journey begins with a single pedal stroke that sets them in motion. Your contribution, no matter how big or small, is like a pedal stroke that can turn a small action into an extraordinary journey.
For nearly 50 years, Cycling BC has been working towards the continuing growth and development of cycling in British Columbia. We have come a long way and we need your help in order to keep advancing the sport forward.
Together, we can help riders overcome obstacles to push them closer to their dreams.
In order to issue donors with a tax receipt, donations to Cycling BC are submitted through the BC Amateur Sport Fund—the BC chapter of the Canadian Council of Provincial & Territorial Sport Federations (“CCPTSF”), a Registered Canadian Amateur Athletics Association with charitable status (registration number 88938 6868 RR0001). The CCPTSF partners with the amateur sport federation in each Canadian jurisdiction to achieve its objectives.
A cyclist’s journey can begin at any point in life. Cycling BC’s HopOn youth cycling program supports young riders in the early stages of development by making cycling accessible to kids in schools, at after-school programs, and in communities.
HopOn provides school-aged kids access to bikes, helmets, and trained bike instructors to help them master bike handling and safety skills that will empower them for the rest of their lives.
Your contribution will support things such as,
“This program, developed by Cycling BC, engages students in a positive cycling experience that builds skills in a safe and fun learning environment. This program has already received wonderful accolades from our schools with remarkable stories of students thriving under this type of approach. Thank You.” – Lynn Hauptmann, Superintendent, SD #5
“I would even come to school on Saturday if you guys were here!” – Rhys, student at Watson Elementary, Chilliwack
Through our High Performance programs, we are able to provide athletes with access to high-quality coaching, equipment, training and racing opportunities during the critical stages of their athletic development. Your financial support can alleviate the financial burden on athletes and their families, helping them to focus on their training and gearing them up for greatness.
In 2024, former Cycling BC High Performance program participant, Riley Pickrell of Victoria, BC, will turn pro after signing a two-year professional contract with the Israel-Premier Tech pro cycling team.
Like others who have come through the program before him and many who will come after, Riley’s journey would not have been possible without the generous donations of individuals and organizations that financially support our programs.
