BMX is an exciting and fast-paced cycling discipline raced on a purpose-built dirt track, usually 300-400m long, featuring jumps, rollers, and banked corners (aka berms). Riders compete head-to-head in short sprint races that demand explosive power, bike handling skills, and quick reactions. BMX is a dynamic and family-friendly discipline that is especially popular with youth and serves as an entry point into competitive cycling for many athletes.
BMX bikes come in a range of frame sizes from the Mini for the very young rider, through the expert, pro to the XL and even the XXL. One major variation is a slightly bigger BMX bike fitted with 24″ wheels called a cruiser. Cruisers are made in a range of sizes to suit young riders, and up to full-size versions.
