The 2026 Canadian Track Cycling Championships (Elite/Masters/Para), held in Bromont, Quebec, from January 9-11, 2026, was an inspiring display of Canada’s Elite, Masters, and Para track cycling talent. Riders from British Columbia delivered some outstanding performances. From championship-winning races to podium finishes, BC’s athletes demonstrated their skill and passion for the track.

One of the championship-winning performances came from Cam Fitzmaurice (Water Line Racing) of Vancouver, who claimed gold in the Elite Men’s Elimination Final by edging out Ontario riders Carson Mattern (Gers Cycling Développement) and Chris Ernst, who finished in 2nd and 3rd, respectively.

In the Elite Women’s Pursuit, Fiona Majendie (Project Instinct Racing) from Vancouver earned a gold medal and the championship title. Fiona also earned a bronze medal in the Women’s Scratch race, joining 2nd place winner Kimberly Chen (Red Truck Racing pb Mosaic Homes) of Victoria, and 1st place finisher Justine Thomas (Star Track UCI Pro Team) from Quebec on the podium.

BC’s Para athletes also claimed National titles in the Kilo Time Trial, including Mel Pemble of Victoria in the Women’s C3 class, Jessica Law of Vancouver in the Women’s C5, and Lachlan Hotchkiss of Surrey in the Men’s C4.

Lucie Sedlackova of Port Coquitlam impressed multiple times with silver medals in both the Master A Women’s Points Race and Scratch Race, and a bronze medal in the Sprint. Jonathan Lyons (Burnaby Velodrome Club) from Bowen Island claimed a bronze in the Master D men’s Scratch race, and Lee Dominic from Coquitlam earned a silver in the Master A Men’s Sprint and a bronze in the Keirin.

Cycling BC extends heartfelt congratulations to all the athletes who competed in the championships, regardless of podium placement and results—Your dedication, perseverance, and passion inspire us all. The 2026 Canadian Track Cycling Championships were a testament to the track cycling community’s love of the sport, and we are proud to see that so many BC riders were part of this event.
