About the Fernie Gravel Grind
The Fernie Gravel Grind is a weekend long gravel cycling experience located in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, home to some of the best gravel riding that Canada has to offer. Over the course of the weekend, riders will race up picturesque mountain roads, experience the history-rich town of Fernie, British Columbia, and connect with a growing community of Canadian gravel cyclists while enjoying our venue located in the downtown core. Following our mission, Anything Goes With Gravel, the race itself is open to anyone and everyone, and offers multiple distances, race categories and fun activities for the whole family, all weekend long.

Friday Night, June 24th – Industry Night and Rider Welcome 5:00-9:00pm
There’s much more than just bike racing, so come grab your race package and hangout at our outdoor industry night for the evening where a star studded cast of vendors will be set up, accompanied by a beer garden, local food trucks and live music.
Saturday, June 25th – The Gravel Grind 9:00am-3:00pm
With two of the most scenic gravel routes to chose from, riders will spend the better part of Saturday morning and afternoon racing (or riding) these iconic routes throughout the Elk Valley. Both short and long routes will be fully marked with the infamous FGG Stoke Stations; fully loaded with the best ride food and enthusiastic volunteers to make sure every rider finishes with a smile.
Saturday, June 25th – Post Race Activities 2:00pm-7:00pm
After a great day of racing, make sure to kick your feet up at our venue for the post race hangout and award ceremonies in similar fashion to the Friday Industry Night.
Sunday, June 26th – Sunday Social Ride (Open to Registered Full Weekenders Only)
Join us for our Sunday Social Ride where we’ll be splitting off into groups, exploring local gravel scene, and grabbing some food and drink around town, including:

A pre-ride coffee at Beanpod Chocolate and Gelato.
- A mellow and social tour of Fernie’s gravel scene.

Drinks and post ride lunch on us at the Kodiak Lounge.
If you came to race, perfect, thats what Saturday’s Gravel Grind is for! The Sunday Social Group Rides will be laid back, fully intended for socializing and exploring our lovely little town on those tired legs of yours. The Sunday Social is only open to Full Weekend riders which is capped at 50 riders. Further details about the Sunday Group Rides and Full Weekend Experience will be released to registered participants closer to the event.
