Arc’Teryx-Trips For Kids p/b iRide – (12 spots per day)
Each day of the camp features a different community center, neighborhood house or youth agency from Central and East Vancouver and introduces these youth riders to the North Shore trail network through a structured mountain bike that supplies mountain bikes, helmets and NCCP-trained coaches from Cycling BC’s iRide program.
Trips for Kids’ mandate is to take kids biking. Since the beginning of the Vancouver chapter in 2001, an average of 500 youth with barriers to accessing the outdoors have experienced this program each year and participated in adventures in Pacific Spirit Park, Seymour Demonstration Forest, Delta Watershed, Squamish and Whistler.
The 2018 initiative has been spearheaded with the support of Arc’Teryx and will be coached by Cycling BC’s iRide program, led by 2012 Canadian Criterium Champion and iRide Head Coach, Ben Chaddock. All equipment will be provided through Trips for Kids, however, riders can use their own bicycle if they wish. In that case, bicycle storage is available for the week. All transportation is provided by Cycling BC.
Arc’Teryx-Trips For Kids p/b iRide is operating in partnership with the City of Vancouver, Arc’Teryx, Trips for Kids and Cycling BC’s iRide program to help introduce youth with barriers to the outdoors experience mountain biking.
