L’Alpe de Grand Blanc

On  July 24^th, 2016, the L’Alpe de Grande Blanc Bike Race will engage the local cycling community with a challenging ride from Kelowna to Big White Ski Resort in similar fashion to the Tour de France, which concludes on the same day.

Riders will enjoy a  fully-supported road ride that embodies the ceremony and rituals of the world’s greatest cycling event.  The L’Alpe de Grande Blanc will offer up Polka Dot Jerseys for the King and Queen of the Mountain classifications, along with prizes for the fastest team, youngest and oldest competitor.

A festival atmosphere will welcome the riders to the finish line where they will be greeted with entertainment, post ride BBQ, refreshments and massage.  The ride will feature 2 distances – the full length race of close to 60 km, a shorter 9.3 km ride starting at the Gem Lake parking lot open to  junior/youth cyclists that ends at the same finish line.  As this is a point-to-point ride, all riders will be offered transport back to Kelowna after the awards ceremony.
