The anticipation is over as we proudly unveil the 2024 BC Cup Downhill Series calendar. Prepare yourselves for a gravity-fueled 8-race series that will take you to some of British Columbia’s most iconic mountain destinations.
The series opener kicks off on the weekend of June 14-16 as the BC Cup makes a return to the world-renowned Whistler Bike Park. After Whistler, the ever-popular Dunbar Summer Series will then carry the BC Cup torch through the next three races across the stunning rocky mountains at Fernie Alpine Resort on July 6-7, Panorama on July 9-10, and Kicking Horse Mountain on July 13-14. All three races are also part of the Canada Cup DH series so it’s going to be a jam-packed good time.
The Dunbar Summer Series takes a brief pause while SilverStar Mountain resumes to host the next Canada Cup and BC Cup races on their flowy and technical trails on August 3-4. While it’s not part of the BC Cup, the following week’s action at Sun Peaks will host the 2024 Canadian Mountain Bike Downhill Championships and the Dunbar Summer Series finale from August 10-11.
The BC Cup picks up again on August 24-25 on the island at Mount Washington for the Steve Smith Memorial race, where it’s not just about the racing but a celebration of late mountain biking legend, Stevie Smith.
The 2024 BC Cup will meet its penultimate race on August 31-September 1 at Big White Bike Park where riders will enjoy stunning panoramic views of the valley below. The series finale will take place on the Sunshine Coast for a late summer race on the weekend of September 13-15 where Coast Gravity Park, known for its techy sections, jumps, and coastal allure, will draw the final curtain on the 2024 BC Cup season.
