Six BC Riders Named to Cycling Canada’s Lineup for 2026 UCI BMX World Cup 1-4

Six BMX athletes from BC have been selected by Cycling Canada to compete in the opening rounds of the 2026 UCI BMX Racing World Cup Series. From Vancouver Island to the Lower Mainland, this talented group will proudly represent both Canada and their home province on the elite world stage in France and the Netherlands this season.

The opening four rounds of the UCI BMX World Cup series begin in Sarrians, France, for rounds 1 and 2, and then in Papendal, Netherlands, for rounds 3 and 4. Cycling Canada has named a dynamic national roster for the complete tour, and British Columbia is exceptionally well represented among the core squad.

Competing in all four events are three of B.C.’s finest:

Lucas Zhou of Surrey, BC
Keira Murphy of Nanaimo, BC
Ryan Tougas of Pitt Meadows, BC

Cycling BC is proud to see Surrey, Nanaimo, and Pitt Meadows represented at the highest level of BMX racing.

Joining the Canadian effort for the French opener in Sarrians is Dallen Brereton‑Stiles of Coquitlam. Dallen will help strengthen the Canadian presence at the first two World Cups. When the series shifts to the Netherlands for World Cups 3 and 4 in Papendal, two more B.C. riders will step onto the world stage, Jack Cerney of Coquitlam and Ryley Cofield of Nanaimo. Jack and Ryley will round out the Canadian lineup for the final summer block.

A special note of recognition goes to Lucas Zhou, who enters this season as the junior men’s bronze medalist at the 2025 BMX Racing World Championships. Lucas has proven that BC-developed talent can stand on the world podium.

Congratulations to Lucas, Keira, Ryan, Dallen, Jack, and Ryley — on the selection to the team, which is a testament to hard work and the support of your local clubs, coaches, and the BMX community in British Columbia.
